I always have the postal service hold gifts at the post office.  They leave a sticky on your mailbox.

Watching my pocket family rally around one of our own who lost everything but their lives on the Winter Solstus.  Thanks to their pocket family and other they have a roof over their heads, clothing, furniture, and all the things they need to start all over again, including any time they need hugs or a shoulder to cry on. 

The feeling of knowning, you may not be blood, but if something should happen you have people around you that will be there for you.
