See, I actually have a forepart from a different gown that I'm going to use instead of the gold. I find it entirely too shiny and this forepart is brown with diamond cutouts, with gold underneath / peeking through. Then the brown has a flower and diamond/vine design...I actually added a turquoise bead to the middle of each flower. I worked so hard on it, I HAVE to use it!

I updated the blog today with a few pics - the beading on the sleeves and the underskirt forepart.

It's the fabric in the last of your pictures in your blog, right?

I so admire thise of you who can sit and do all that beading. One of the fabrics I am thinking of using will (possibly) want some embellishment. I am not any good with a needle and thread. I'd love to use this gown as a chance to take my time and learn some good skills.

How long did it take you to bead your sleeves and forepart?

Oh that is terrific!   the pattern to the weave is a great touch.  (And your Barbie shows good spirit and verve!)

OOP- Out of Print (find them on ebay or elsewhere for a large prices sometimes)

Duh- Sometimes I'm forgetful. It is Out of Print. But I did find one Ebay. Think I paid about $10 for it. About a year ago. I already had one in Kendyl's size, I just needed one for me. ( alot bigger size!) I had made this for my sister in law a loooong time ago. I need to find that picture.....

I actually went looking on ebay for it the other day because of how beautiful your dress came out,
I lost out on one for $2.50 simply because I didn't get the ebay notice in time.
Stupid ebay.

is it a pattern worth paying more than $10 for?

Usually I find it listed on ebay for around $30-$40, just for that pattern. But I think that is way too much for that type of pattern. But because it is OOP people try and charge more. Hopefully I can find it for a good buy for under $10.
