Lady Rebecca

#1710
I finally had a chance to put on the ensemble yesterday. I need to take in the chemise neckline 2", still need to bind the bottom front of the bodice, and I've decided I'm going to add a swag of muslin around the neckline.

(Sorry the pictures are so grainy. I'm not sure what's up with that...)

I love the sleeves to death Lady Rebecca. Of course the whole thing is fabulous but I like them most :)
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

Catch stitching the seam allowances down in the bodice.

I tried the bathing suit on for a final placement of the white inset, and took a few pics. Oh my gosh I super love it!!! It's really comfortable. I wish I had made the legs a teeny bit longer, I think the bloomers would look better just below the knee, but it's not the end of the world. I guess if I wanted to I could make them longer and hide the seam with trim. I LOVE how the back of the outfit looks, the pleating techniques in this outfit are really cool.  I still have to add more buttons, and sew in the inset; and I have the skirt half hemmed, and then need to add trim, and I'll be done!

Valencia, adorable!

But I'm cheering Centuries along, b/c that's about where I'm at with my kirtle and wish I had purty piccies to show off, too!  Huzzah catch stitching!!

Love the swimsuit!

My project is getting on slowly.   Here is the hand sewn chemise.

It's out of some very awesome linen/cotton fabric I found that is just the perfect weight for a chemise.  I used linen thread and cut it out according to several extant chemises.

The fabric for the 1500's Italian gown:

The silk velvet is pink one way, green the other.  The silk brocade is actually copper (not yellow) and blue with pink flowers.
