Vorotnaberd is an important fortress located between the villages of Vaghatin and Vorotan in the Syunik Province of Armenia.

The actual building of the fortress is something of a mystery. Vorotnaberd was attacked multiple times by foreign invasions. In 1104 (possibly in 1219 as well) Seljuk-Turks attacked the fortress and the nearby monastery of Vorotnavank.

Burgruine Gurnitz is a castle in Carinthia, Austria.

In the year 860, the Archdiocese of Salzburg was leased the area where the castle sits. It passed back to the Corwn and first, it was a royal estate, and only later, in the 11th Century, was it built into a castle. From that time bore the name of the owner Gurnitz. The church and former monastery are directly north downhill from the castle.

Burg Seebenstein is a castle in Lower Austria, Austria.

belch? Matsuyama Castle also known as Takahashi Castle, is a castle located in Takahashi, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.

Ruzhany Palace, also known as Rozany Castle is in Belarus.

Rozany began its life before 1552 as the site of Lew Sapieha's castle. By the end of the 16th century, it became the property of the Sapega family. Under then the castle was rebuilt into an opulent palace. Only a fant footprint on the ground s a reminder of the earlier moated castle.

Het Gravenkasteel, lso known as Château Comtal, is in Rochefort Belgium.

It was in 1155 found the first mention of the castle of the Counts of Rochefort, but much of the construction appears to be older.

Kasteel 's Gravenwezel is in Belgium.

This castle is inhabited by Axel Vervoordt, who is apparently a very wealthy real estate magnate so information on the castle's histoy is not easy to find. The first moated castle was built on this site about 1163. The moat and foundations and water towers are still there, but the exterior castle has changed considerably over the centuries.

Jajce Castle is a fortress in Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Some of the castle's construction indicates that it was built as early as the mid-1200's. On the southwest is an entrance with the royal coat of arms from about 1421.

Kastel Kostajnica, also known as Stari Grad Zrinski, is a castle in Hrvatska Kostajnica, a town in central Croatia.

The fortress was built most probably in the 14th century and owned by the members of the noble families Frankopan, Lipovecki, Tot, Benvenjud and finally (in 16th century) Zrinski.

Cervena Lhota is a castle situated in south Bohemia, Czech Republic.

The first written source about the castle is an entry into the land records from 1465, mentioning the division of the property of deceased Ctibor of Zásmuk between his two sons Petr and Václav. It was built on a rocky granite outcrop, which, after the damming of a stream and the filling up of a fishpond, became an island.

Houska Castle is a castle, 47 km north of Prague, in the Czech Republic.

It was built in the first half of the 13th century probably on the orders of Bohemian ruler Ottokar II of Bohemia during his reign (1253–1278) to serve as an administration center from which the extensive royal estates could be managed. The chapel of the castle is said to be built over a supernatural well.

Clausholm Castle is a moated castle in Denmark.

The castle's origins appear to go back to the 12th century but it is first mentioned in the 14th century when its owner, Lage Ovesen, was one of the leaders of the Jute uprising against Valdemar Atterdag.

Portchester Castle is a medieval castle and former Roman fort at Portchester, England.

Historians believe that the Roman fort was built by Marcus Aurelius Carausius on the instructions of emperor Diocletian between 285 and 290. It is uncertain when the castle was built, although it was probably in the late 11th century. In the aftermath of the Norman Conquest, Roman walls and Medieval keep.

Halton Castle is in the former village of Halton which is now part of the town of Runcorn, Cheshire, England.

Following the Norman conquest, the Barony of Halton was established by Hugh Lupus, Earl of Chester. The first baron to be appointed was Nigel of Cotentin. It is most probable that during the 12th century the original wooden structure was replaced by a castle built from the local sandstone.

Laiuse Castle is some distance north and east of the village of Laiuse, Estonia.

The castle was built by the Livonian Order sometime before 1406. It was enlarged during Livonian War in early 1558.
