Let The Countdown Begin!

Loki DOES encourage diplomacy... take AHE, last year.  We had a camp of young(er) people set up next McShugg and their Brewmaster came by with a few bottles of barley wine.  We decided to return the favor, so Lady Jessica, Nasty & myself wandered over with some Loki.  They had heard of the legendary drink but never sampled any.  We promptly started pouring people drinks and they LOVED it... so much a couple followed us back to camp and bought a bottle of Mounds Bar off of Nasty & I.  We ran into this group, the next day, in faire and i was kicked in the shin by their Brewmaster, who looked like death warmed over.  All i could say, with a laugh, was " Now you know why the full name is "Loki's Revenge".  Apparently they got trashed to the point that the girls in the group stripped down, butt naked, and strolled through different camps.

LOL  From just one bottle?!?  I do recall that they were very enthusiastic about it...    

It is true that Loki encourages people to be much more friendly toward people they might have just met, and when shared it can definitely be a conversation starter all on it's own!

They had quite a bit of barley wine & homemade mead flowing over there... some people got more of the bottle than others and we poured a bunch out into various mugs.

Yeah... mixing all those different kinds of booze might encourage someone to take off all their clothes and wander around naked... but through other people's camps?!?    That's kind of asking for trouble...   


The Mounds seemed to be a big favorite with lots of people, and the BNB, as well.  Too bad about that last bottle, though...  How did it end up in your barn, anyway?

It was at the bottom of a trash can we threw stuff in when we were breaking camp... at least it wasn't very much.

Well, the bottle of Peach/Mango I have is still good (just went and tasted it to make sure...), even though it's been refrigerated and warmed a couple of times during trips to our local Faires.    Maybe the BNB got too hot in the barn, or something?  Could have something to do with the flavoring, I guess...

I need to go pick up a couple of gallon jugs this afternoon for my own efforts.  I also need to find one of the local bars that might be willing to save a case of bottles for me, as well (since I so seldom drink that it would take me a few years to accumulate enough bottles for a whole batch!). 


So, Strawberry Shortcake this weekend, eh?  That sounds like it's going to be a very popular flavor...

Strawberry Eclaire?    Or Chocolate Eclaire?  Or just that Eclaire cream filling flavor?  


And what, exactly, does it depend on, pray tell?  (whoever wins the fist fight?)

Eclaire... or shortcake.  It all depends on how the flavors mix.  Mounds bar was actually Coconut Cream Pie when we started... At least that is what we originally aimed for.

SirR, have you ever tried Stevia instead of the sweetener you used last year?  Was it Nutri-Sweet?
