OMG, I went to the most wonderful mini shop here in Austin on my lunchbreak.  It is called Mysterium and the woman who owns it specializes in Steampunk.   Super cute stuff!

LOL, several things I am afraid!  I bought some great spray mist called "mutiny" from a company called Steambath!  I also saw several cute flasks that I am going to go back and get and then she makes beautiful and interesting fans....oh and her goggles were very reasonable (even though i am not going that direction with my costume)

you can look her up on Facebook!

I can't wait to get somewhere with my laptop to see the hat...I have finally been bit by the SP bug...can't wait to start working on things  ;D

Ran across a neat source for old style cloth-covered wires and plugs for that authentic look on electric devices and mods.

Ooooh, I like those!  I'll have to bookmark that in case I get a late night urge to start building clanks in my Victorian smalls...  ;)  :D

I've been feelin' a bit... sparky, lately!  heheh

I've actually gotten a little sleep this weekend and am losing those sparky inclinations.  Let's see, good mental health or sleep deprivation driven psychotic sparkiness?  It's a hard choice.

Thanks, Groomporter, for the spiffy link - will check it out later.

Yay!  Welcome Wyckd!  I am also new to SP and these fabulous people on this thread have really helped me with it so I am sure they can steer you too!

;D

I worked on my desktop last night to make it steamy! Yesterday was my 21st birthday and I got a new laptop, as well as splurging at Archivers (a scarpbooking store) and bought some amazing steampunk stuff! They have this blank, empty pocket watch. its like just a casing, not even a clock in it so you can put anything you want. Oh, it will be awesome later on, I assure you.

Anyways, here's my new desktop!

I especially like my light blub clock on the lower right corner. The big gauge thing is a weather reader, but it appears to not be working so good, as it didnt update itself this morning, but I've fixed it.

And a close up of my icons, I tried making them fitting too.

I downloaded the clock and the weather gauge from yahoo widgets. I'm still tweaking it a bit right now, so this is as far as I've gotten.

Delireus, very nicely done.  I'm so jealous of people who can do this kind of thing since I'm a hopeless luddite.  It's good to see the steamy apps coming out for those of us who love (and can figure out how to use) them.  OT, I always think of the Prince song when I see you.

Delireus, nice job on your laptop.  Very creative!

A warm welcome to April Marie and Wyckdblyss.  You will find that we are enablers in all things Steampunk!  I know my "collection" has grown since reading and posting in this thread.  In fact I checked out the Fluevog website.  I could not resist a pair of shoes.  Bad, bad, bad...but hey, they will look very cool with my Steampunk garb.

OMG, I know I loved their shoes but I was unsure how comfortable and practical they would be at TRF!
