Bonnie,

We live in Magnolia also, but right now up at Bristol. Are you talking about the
"old yellow house" they just moved to the corner of 1774 and Nicholl Sawmill?
I heard it was going to be a steakhouse.

Really??  Oh don't tease me!  :P

I have been wondering what that house would end up becoming.

Probably the best idea would be to let a food truck or two into the back so when everyone is closing up and all everyone could get a hot meal prepared on the spot. Especially since food trucks have come a long way from what they used to be lol
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

BACON STRIPS BACON STRIPS BACON STRIPS!

Onto serious things!

This will be the first year the husband and I will be staying in town. TRf has some " friendly hotels listed on their website, but is there any hotels anyone would reccomend due to being friendlier towards us ren-folk? Coming back to a nasty hotel or a mean one after a day of fair would ruin it for us!

Scarlet the hotels around here are very friendly to faire goers.  Why wouldn't they be? TRF is a guaranteed revenue stream for 2 months of the year.  I wouldn't worry about that at all.  :)

Mo-Co's Grill, located in the "Yellow House," is expected to hold their grand opening the weekend of the Tailgate Party on the Stroll, according to Miller. She said a VIP Reception will be held at the "Yellow House" for local and prospective businesses.

So, the aforementioned new restaurant in the same strip center as The Diner, is indeed yet another TexMex joint named "5 de Mayo".

Oh gee like we didn't have enough Mexican restaurants lol.  ::)  Is Magnolia going for the Tex-Mex capitol title or something?  :D

As a restaurant owner, I would love to have this kind of traffic around 8 weekends a year. You would think they would jump for joy at a chance to have so many new patrons. They could offer specials for people who come and eat in garb. Make a fun event instead of dreading the incoming customers.

Not a chance. As long as San Antonio exists it will be the Tex-Mex capitol.
Although, thanks to so many Katrina escapees who stayed here I am finally able to find decent Cajun/Creole places to eat.

*Now if I can just find a perfect rumcake store my meals would all end perfectly*
