Lady Gryphon

I watch the first 15 minutes of the first episode and turned it OFF.  Then Charlie started that stupid trash talk about Patric AFTER he said that what was in the past was going to stay there.  He proved to me a Liar.  and I can't stand a Liar.

Isn't is a strange twist the the supposed Black knight will end up being the good guy out of all of this, and Charlies has just made himself the target for every LANCE out there.  Unless he puts super-glue in that saddle, he's not that great a rider and everyone is going to want to unhorse him or worse.  Maybe someone should tell him to get those knee on those withers and get the weight off of the stirrups.  The knights road in modified three point/two point position like a jockey but with no reign control.  Ever here of Dressage?  That's what it was for.

Ok, I'm off my soap box. I wanted to see this troupe when I was at TRF next week, now I'll pass, thanks.

Why do I feel like I've worn something like this before?

Watch them but ignore the blustering jerk...The other guys are all pretty nice and fun people... Patrick and the younger guy(my bad his name slipped my mind) are truly nice people and Pat is a good rider.... Dressage in it's purest form was a war dance with horses. Teaching them to kick and rear and battle was useful. Knights had to ride MOSTLY with seat and leg as your hands are kind full with lance and shield.  I teach my horses to go off leg and seat but they also rein well!!!! Need to set up the roundpen and break Red!!!UGHH! So behind!

Look forward to seeing them again I love watching the full contact jousting...truly fun to watch...and they SELDOM came off...

The Black Knight is a doll...sweet fairly down to earth and a nice person...he got to be friends with a horse pal of mine and I got to know him at SFF.... Charlie is a thug...if you look in his eyes there is nothing but hate and that is not a good thing...add lying cheating bastard and you have a not nice person...Sadly he wants all the front man glory!!!! I say we all back Patrick and his Black Knight persona!!!!!

Huzzah! I 2nd!
Normal? What's that?

I am in for that. Imagine Charlie having apoplexy over a crowd filled with Black Knight shirts and Banners..... ;D

But of course you realize you are playing right into the hands of one of their marketing ploys.... ;)

I watched the opening show, and like most on here don't think much of Charlie.  But........the idea of full contact jousting becoming another "extreme sport" is pretty cool.  I just hope as the show goes along it's focus is the Knights and the Jousting and NOT this weeks version of the "Charlie being a jerk" show.  I'm planning on attending TRF on Saturday of the T-Giving weekend.  I'll be cheering for the Black Knight, the Green Knight, the Red Knight, etc.........  Anyone except the Jerk Knight.
Spiced rum....hmmmmm
Greetings, try this.

I was thinking about ways to show support for Patrick Lambke aka the Black Knight.
From what I can tell, his signature look is the black armor with the red target area on his left shoulder/pectoral area.
If you have the garb, a simple black top with a piece of red fabric pinned on the shoulder would match his colors while still being reasonably period.
If you were feeling crafty, a red shield-shaped bit of canvas would make a decent favor.

I have yet to catch the show so can't give my opinion on it.

But i do have a question. There is an irish scottish festival in estes park that has jousting and it's part of a circuit and from what i remember for the heavy armor its a pretty big prize, i would say close to 6 figures, are these guys part of that group or not.

As for being at your faire i would either assume that part of the contract for this troup to come in is that they can film cause the producers of the show would have to get permission from the owners of the faire to film.
