Lady Isabella

I have been working on my new gloves using the Lynn McMasters Pattern.
I got the gloves off ebay, olive green leather, cost about $15.
Then another $10 or so for fabric, lace, and trim.

My sister-in-law gave me a hat that was too Victorian, had tulle and ribbon and silk flowers. So I
took it apart and glued on gold metallic gimp. Now it just needs feathers.

I wish I had the talent you folks have. The only talent I'm known for is stirring up trouble.  Rowen & Lady Isabella, that's some really nice work!

Rowan, fantastic job on the doublet so far! I admire your boldness, the way you dive in and go for things!

Lady I, those gloves are SPECTACULAR!!! I thought the pattern was for making the gloves; is for embellishing them? I *love* that, and now I totally want my own (altho' I have absolutely nothing fancy enough for embellished gloves!).

I am working on an embroidery project for a certain forum member, but can't share photos yet. Alas!

Rowan and Lady Isabella Great Job          Merlin the Elder  We all will be looking Good in our new outfits. I can`t wait to see Your new outfit! I am working on some spells for the up coming faires.    Huzzah

Lady Isabella

Gem, The Pattern is for the gauntlet, to attach to your gloves. I did my own ideas for the trims.
They were a pain to add to the gloves, but I LOVE how they turned out!
=)

The Eowynn inspired gown for Shortie is almost finished. There is a full lining of the gown body as well as the sleeves. The hems are machine sewn. I added a row of the trim to outline the hem. Inside where the seams are, I made loop tacks to hold the lining to the gown. This way, there is no chance of the lining crawling up.

All I have to do is sew in the buttons and make the loops for the Contrast part in the back. I put in a non-period zipper for easier getting into and out of. When this is finished. I will make a Pillbox Wizard hat for Alerrick. He'll have 2 hats, depending on his mood.

Very nice Lady Kathleen! Purple and Gold look so pretty together.

Rowen, your husband's doublet looks good! How's the collar coming?
I made the ladies version a few years back, and I always wear it open
with the collar standing up. Way too tight to wear it closed.

Until I saw your picture I had not decided on which bodice to do for my matching dress.  I LOVE this one.  Lovely job! I would wear the collar open anyway due to the hot, humid faire weather we get here.
Thank you for the compliment ^_^.  I should be posting pics of the doublet thus far tonight.  I have the tabs on the back and the whole thing is lined with black suiting lining.. I just need to attach the front tabs, the satin knife pleats on the collar edges and baste down the lining and I'm done!  I'll save the buttons, etc for later.  Then it's on to the venetian breeches....

Edit: I'm making hubby's doublet to lace closed at the sides.. I will need to do 12 grommets on each under arm seam....Better order more aglets...

Lady Isabella

Rowen,
I love my doublet! I am making one for my new dress for this season. It is easy to get into, don't need anyone to lace me up!!

Lady Isabella

..sorry....
Most of the ladies in court have the square necked bodices, so I love being different.

Very pretty doublet!

No pictures from me but I did cut out the dress.  It will be somewhat generic 1550's/1560's European (I've seen the styles in Italy and in England so...) out of burgundy uncut corduroy.  The trim is a braided gold/burgundy trim with pearls on it.   Basic sleeves but I'm thinking of a silver silk forepart to go with the silver Spanish surcote I still have in pieces and need to sew up.   Not sure if I should do that or a black "taffeta" forepart with black velvet damask print.

Rowan MacD

   Lady Isabella,
Did you use a busk closure on the front opening or just boning?  (I'm assuming the clasps are for show) I use a corset, of course, but I like the front of my bodices to lay flat.
I love the sleeves... ;D
