You realize this is worse than Christmas.  ;D

Everyone is so talented and working on such beautiful creations!

Lady K.  I do hope you will keep a photo diary of that process for the leaf detail.   That is one I hope to use on a project myself... sort of aplique style.  I would love to learn from your project and avoid the pitfalls.

The under kirtle layer for the green silk gown...

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

Great works in progress taking place. Huzzah to all!!

After some Alterations today, I readied Lady Kett's and her daughter's muslins for their gowns to get sent. I have my duplicates so I can take notes as to how they fit and where changes need to be made before I cut out the fabrics.

In the days before I leave for my 2 week trio to visit my Mother and Sister out West, I have the silk ready to get drawn out on the Interfacing side of thr Ancthus Leaf design for Lord Dragon's Captain Teague coat, then get the coat cut out to take with me to work on while I am gone.

No rest for the wicked. I will have access to a compter, but no ability to post photos until I get back.

I will be doing that, Amy, as I progress. I usually do make a photo diary with notes as how I did this or that.

The fabric for Lord Dragon's Captain Teague coat is cut out and ready for me to serge.

I laid out and cut the Silk out. It appears in places I will have to do some tucks here and there to shorten the spaces between the leaf designs. They should camaflouge well.

The Leafe design traced onto the Interfaced side of the silk.

Cut out and flipped to get a mirror image.

The pieces that will adorn the sleeve cuff.

The pkacing of the designs and the hand sewing of the cording will kekep me busy while I am gone.

Thank you so much Lady K.   We all will enjoy learning this with you!

The petticoat for my dress is done!   It's a dark teal silk taffeta with self trim and gold trim.   All the self trim was hand gathered and hand sewn to the front of the petticoat.  The gold trim was also hand sewn on.

Now, to actually finish the dress!

The 18th Century gown is going to be lovely when finished.

Thank you both!   I've applied the self trim and the gold to the edges of the open skirt of the gown.   I sewed up most of the gown last night.  I *should* have something looking like a gown by tonight.  I hope!

I have readied Lord Dragon's Captain Teague coat to pin on the leaf designs to the main body of the coat. I have the Sleeve Cuffs readied as well. Now comes the fun part,,,hand sewing the cording.

I have the Sleeves to Lady Kett's husband's Doublet ready to finish and her daughter's False undersleeves to the Tudor gown I will be doing for her daughter with me as well to work on while I am gone for the next 2 weeks. This will be a working vacation.
