I'm going to finally work more on some outfits for my mom and me.
I have all the material I need to start on my autumn style fairy. I just need to figure out how small I should make some wings since I work in my booth and don't want to smack my helpers or customers.

1. Blue Faerie for my Scally Wag: bodice, bloomers and wings to go with the cute royal blue tutu she has, and is dying to wear!
2. Turkish semi-fantasy garb for me, from several vintage saris.
3. Several skirts from the stash I need to use up.
4. Cloak from the bolt of heavy dark green slubbed poly blend I've been storing for several years, now.
5. Finally learn how to make a Victorian corset.
6. Use up all these beautiful sample pieces and yards of trim on the pouches I've been wanting to make for ages!
7. Perfect the design of a fun Steampunk accessory I've been envisioning for a while now...

After, of course, trying to get my sewing space a bit more streamlined and functional, which is happening this week!!!

For the past few years I have been yearning to get to Pennsic, it is a 2 week party in Pennsylvania, and it seems life had conspired for me not to make it, soon I will have my plane ticket (argh I have to actually pay for it, it was so much easier when I flew for free LOL), and then I need clothing for PA in August (whine)

Pennsic Garb

:DElizabethan :D
3 New Smocks
3 Linen Kirtles
3 Coifs
3 Hats
Gabardine
Dutch Cloak

:D Florentine :D
2 Camicias
2 Gamurra in Linen
2 Aprons

Because I might need these-
1 Roman
1 Grecian
1 14th Century Gown.

Yeah, I know kind of an entirely new wardrobe but it is okay since I made a couple of these already!  Yea Me! I need to find a golden linen for one of the kirtles!!!

Well, considering my 2010 list didn't get finished, and I only sewed a few robes in 2011...I'm not making a list this year. Lol!! I do know I'll be making more ritual robes for friends and hopefully some faire garb for myself and family/friends.

Seems my list very rarely changes. How daunting.
For my wife: new kirtle, probably a new corset to match, new skirts, a better flowing/fitting chemise, flat cap.
For Amara: a doublet gown, new chemise, new bodice for warm weather faires.
For Tristan: new kilt, new jerkin, attempt to do slashed slops to match doublet.
For me: whatever I can find time for, after above projects. Left over from last two years: new doublet, new pants, hat. I'd love to try my hand at gloves (no pun intended), but its pretty much bottome of the priority list.
Both kids have also asked for sword belts and scabbards for their wooden swords (nothing is more adorable than the frustrated pout of a 2 1/2 year old who can't figure out why his sword doesn't stick to his side) and I have begun a design for a sheild for Tristan, but that'll probably be better for when he's a bit older. And, yes, for the next couple years, the swords will stay home when we go out, until the kidlets can be trusted not to attack anyone, especially each other.

And to top it all off ( I am trying to decide if it'll be the inspiration to get started early and in an organized fashion, or an exercise in frustration that'll make it all take longer) teach Amara to sew.

Ok did some thinking.  And although there are alot of ideas and hopes rolling around in my noggin'....I think I wil start with this modest list.
-clean and organize my sewing room (which honestly could take the next three years)
-new elizabethan corset
-new farthingale

Would love to get this done so I can move on to more exciting and creative endevours.  weeeee!

Trillium

I want to:

finish my pirate coat-it's put together, just needs the embellishments
make a new codpiece for my hubby
make my elven gown that I've been dreaming about for years
make a gwahzee coat
make a new faerie skirt
make a winter hat for me
make fans for me and my niece
Got faerie dust?

Great lists, everyone!  Now that we have these ambitious goals, let's cheer each other along as we sew our way through the year.

My goals for January:
--mockup for TT Elizabethan waistcoat
--buy fabric for above

Butch

Would like to make a new sailor jacket (already have the wool)

Would also like to make something more noble for myself.

If either Michael or I get involved in KCRF this year, will have to do whatever for that.

Also, would like to start the 1799 US Marine uniforms.

(non-faire) JUST GOT DONE making drapes for my son's room in his college apartment.  Unfortunately, he gave me approximations and I ordered the material.  When I went to his house (3 1/2 hours drive away), I found I had way too little material.  I made 4 panels for 2 windows, and had enough left for a throw pillow.

Gem! I have done 1 of these and I have this strange blue/purple-y color fabric that I think I can get a whole Waistcoat out of it and I am going to attempt to do blackwork embroidery on it, but in silver thread.  I plan to make skirts of silk shot purple/blue with black velvet gaurds, but I dont know if I will get to that this year, it is in the plan though...!

Ok, here is an update on my Sewing list for 2012. Due to Fuzzlet coming along I didn't get as much sewing done as I would have liked last year but I hope to put a little more of a dent in my fabric stash by using things I have to make things for her to wear, and to sell.

Started a dress for my daughter's trip to NYC.  They are going to see a few shows on Broadway, so I am making her a nice little black dress.  It's not garb, but I have taken some creative liberties, so it's getting my sewing brain warmed up for bigger projects.  :)

My list for 2012 so far is meager.

In October, I started my second bodice. I have the boning, the busk, and the material cut and pinned. I want to do it all by hand.

And, its been sitting like that since October!

Fall and Winter semesters Ive been full time in school, along with the wife/mom gig that's 24/7, so I haven't gotten to finish. But I will...before the next faire this summer.

Also, we had an "asthma educator" come out to our home (bc 5 of us have asthma, my 4 childrens is rather severe, and my 14 yr old daughter's lung function is chronically sucky) and their pulmonolgist thought maybe I was missing something in my home that was setting asthma off. What did she find was....my sewing space/stash area in the basement. She did her review and this week I got a letter saying pretty much the only thing she was notating I need to change is that specific area (even though its in the basement, where the kids rarely are). So, Ive got to figure out a way to organize all that mess and get all my fabric and supplies into lidded boxes. Apparently its a dust hazard.

LadyStitch

Here is an updated list on what I have accomplished in the past month. I've had to add a few things onto my list because of family things (SIL is expecting again) and since family has seen what I can do, they want stuff too. My goal is to finish a UFO each month so I can get more out the door, and allow for more fun projects to come in.

A million things!

But mostly:

1. New lower middle class linen dress - needs to be done by May (for a new show)
2. New red noble gown - by the end of June
3. Fairy costume - by May (yes, I am branching out, and joined Trooping Fairies for faires where we are not court!)

Between my son getting the high school drama club and having his third production this school year opening tonight, and two more later this semester, and wanting to audition myself for a play (Death takes a holiday), I have NO IDEA when I am going to get all of this done. But, I think a little more hanging around this forum will help get me on track!
