We could be, mehan.

I lost a sister in 2006 whom you resemble in many ways. I would be willing to adopt you as a sister.

Oh My CS. I love that silk velvet combo.
The brown velvet makes the green silk look so much more rich that it might be on its own.

And bravo for venturing away from the red and black that seems to be the most common color combination.

Hubby's noble garb so far.  Still need to make the matching breeches (my first attempt I had one leg with the nap running the wrong way. Gah!) grommets on the sides of the doublet, and two grommets at the throat of the cloak. Hubby wanted the grommets on the cloak to replace cords when they wear out or break.

I need to straighten out a couple of the clasps.  Keep forgetting to do that..

Thank you all!  I feel slightly more confidant going into making my dress.   That will be my first attempt at cartridge pleating...but I have the thread on that subject here to help me.

Rowen that looks great. I can't wait to see the rest.

Now for some glimpses into my current Opus.

Oh Rowan..   I don't think you can count yourself as a beginner on any level!  That is simply beautiful.  Wonderful fabric choices and your abilities look pretty advanced to me!  Amazing what you can accomplish!  I would be so proud to have made that!   Great Great work!  I know your dress will be a stunner.

And I too love that fabric.   The bead work is too lovely!
