Thanks Amy & Dona C! It looks like there is much sewing in my future- I asked my daughter if she wanted to go to Pennsic this year and she said yes which means she'll need more than the one camecia and gown  she has now! ;D

btw- I finished the dress diary. http://who-gives-a.blogspot.com

Upon recommendations from Lady Kett, I eliminated the point of the Doublet and straightened the bottom out as she had pinned. This way, when worn with a kilt, the Sporan would not be hidden. Added are the lined, Piped sleeves, with Silver Celtic buttons.

The Silver tips att he end of the ribbons came from Fire Mountain Gems. None of the Hobby or fabric stores had any. Hobby stores! Imagine that?

That's deliciously yummy, Lady Kathleen! If he's not happy, I'm going to bean him in the noggin and just drag him to the altar!! (25th anniversary vow renewal for those who may not be aware of the occasion for the new duds)

And lovely, lovely work from all of you on the past few pages!

Captain Teague

Awesome work as always.  ;D

ALL Y'all, btw..... ;D

Congratulations Lady Kett on the event as well as the lovely new duds!   And Lady Katherine that is as alway beautiful.  I especially like the slightly brighter blue lining color. That is a really cool and attractive surprise.  I hope it is really like that and not just the camera.

Thanks, Lady Kathleen. Sometimes you have to let the fabric speak for itself without any trims. ;)

I Love the blue doublet! It brings an Ionar to mind. Oooooh! It would look even more so with the addition of skirting!

It's really like that, amy! The decorative stitching is also a bright blue on the shirt.

There's some truly awesome stuff going on here.  Keep it up!

The reason I've been a bit less chatty than usual s that we are BUSY here at Jolly Dicey!  Which is great.  This is our latest offering.  About 50 hours work, split almost exactly between the two of us in terms of hours done:

The coat is Hainsworth's finest dress Barathea, with Venetian cloth (wool satin) lapels, and a cupro and silk/rayon lining.  The waistcoat sil raw silk suiting in herringbone weave with a silk/rayon lining.  All the pockets are working pockets.  You can see the whole story here.  http://dressdiaries.livejournal.com/558322.html

I'm now just finishing a remodeling of some Abba costumes, and we have a new project!  A Dan Dare era space ranger costume based on an RAF officer's tunic (wot I have stashed away, natch!).
