Kate! Here's the early 17th Century ensemble I did last year that I am quite proud of. Drafted the Doublet and sleeves all by me little lonesome.

The Fabric is a Silk Brocade that I bought for $17.50 a yard. Glad I bought 8 yards of the stuff. used just about every inch of it.

Love that underskirt!!

I've made only 1 foray into the noble realm and haven't figured out the underskirt quite right. My hoop rides way forward from too much weight in the back. Will have to sort out before this season. Constantly kicking the back of my skirt was ticking me off long before 10:00am mead call!  LOL
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Gorgeous stuff!!! I feel like I'll never catch up!!!  ;D

Do you have a bum roll?  Mine takes the weight off the back of my skirts so that they don't push forward.

You know what I love about your work, Kate?  It's your attention to detail.  You don't make historical "costumes" you make historical "clothes".  Well done.

Thank you.  We have a great deal of fun doing it.  This 17th C lot was incredibly comfortable.

Thank you, ladies. I'm pleased with the way the underskirt came out. Now I'm waiting for my black silk to come in. Still lots to do before April 6th.
