DonaCatalina, for your friend, I'd suggest getting some of those fake hair braids and scrunchies to fill out the snood with.   They work very well with shorter hair.  Or something like this as well.

Actually she is quite happy with the pantyhose arrangement. She tried fake hair but she says its too hot.

I'll agree - a full head wig- even a half wig is HOT.   

However, a pony tail anchored extention, or a braided hair headband should not pose too much trouble to most people.

I guess it's a matter of how much/little are you able to work with your own locks vs the period look you want. But a little investment of time and effort can really pay off BIG in the overall look of your gown.

Have you all tried making "Bongraces"? They are stupid simple! and are so very easy I am trying to get my pattern PDF'd for my pattern and it is dead easy!
