Well, just took my beating and bought my tix online.  Not sure why the faire wants to punish me for buying my tickets online, but no time to go to the store.

Is it Thursday yet?

Got my tickets yesterday.

Finished one of my big homework assignments.

Gotta read for an assignment today and tomorrow, and hopefully get some of the assignment done.

Gotta get garb ready and set out for me to wear.

Should I wash my chainmaille? I dunno, I need to look at it when I get the chance.

Getting closer!!!!

Ok... the moment you've all been waiting for (in my mind, anyway...)!  Dun dun DUUUUUUNNNNNN!!!

We have FINALLY put up the new tent, and it's pretty freakin' AMAZING!  From taking it out of the carry bag (only about 20 lbs, so not all that heavy), rolling it out and getting it all inflated for the very first time, ever... it took ScallyWag and I a grand total of about 14 minutes, and that includes stepping on the cheap stakes to push them in the ground.  And yes, I DID buy the extra heavy duty large metal stakes, but we aren't using them for the shakedown and seam sealing.  We didn't stake the guy lines, but we will before it gets dark, just in case the breeze picks up tonight (not supposed to, but this IS Oklahoma, after all).

It's sturdy, and seriously well made, and worth quite a bit more than I paid for it, I can already tell!  The leg "tubes" are covered with heavy gauge ripstop nylon, with zippers so that the inner inflatable tubes can be repaired or replaced, if needed... so the whole tent doesn't have to be trashed if one of the tubes is punctured or develops a leak.  There are 4 large square windows with easy access zippers that stop before the bottom of the window so no r@!n can get in, with good mesh on the outside, and another window on the LARGE arched door.  The door zipper is covered with a flap to keep out the wet stuff, also, with a corner triangle at the bottom where the side and bottom zippers meet.  There are two zippered ports to access the leg inflation points, guy out vents on each end, and pre-attached guy ropes.  We're ALL excited to spend out first night in it!!!  I'm leaving it up tonight to see how it does with the dew point... and tomorrow morning we're seam sealing the whole thing, and giving it another day and overnight to dry.

This thing is pretty sweet... the pumping by itself took LESS than 5 minutes, TOTAL... and Scally did all of it, herself!  I just held the pump hose in place and shook up the legs when they were ready.  12 pumps for the long legs and 10 for the short ones (2 of each), and we were done!  And now for the photos...  ;D

Sorry they're so large... fb doesn't give the option of resizing them.

The air tube "legs"...

Roomy accommodations...  ;D

Interior view from one end... then ScallyWag in there for scale.

And more scale, to show the room it's got... ;D

WewT!!!  We have TENT!!!

Bonny, we're really looking forward to seeing you, also!  It's really starting to feel real, now... finally!

KP, I hope you all make it out for AHE!  Just wouldn't be the same without you!  Do you know if Martin Montgomery will be coming out this year, at all?  I never see him post anywhere at all these days... and we have both really missed him!

I can't make it until 2nd weekend, gives everyone a week to work out the bugs, so that by the time I visit, everything is perfect.   :)

I still don't have a place to camp, though.  Any active clans got room for another kilt?
It ain't the years, it's the mileage.

Batninja, McLot is only there in official name on the big 3 weekends but there may be members camping that weekend.  Are you on the McLot FB page?  I think you are.  Anywhoo, maybe make a shout out there to see who will be around.

We're getting pretty excited for all of you!  Can't wait to see pics from Opening!  :)

Time to clean out the van, today, and pull out the cooler and wash it down.  Need to start making a list of journey rations, I guess... and make a liquor store run pretty soon, also.  ;D
