I love seeing your work.  No suggestions, but I can't wait to see what you come up with next!  :)

Just wanted to revisit with photos of the completed Mary of Hungary Project gown.  These were taken at Scarborough on April 12.  It was a pleasant surprise to meet some members of the forum.  So, what should I make next?

BOOKWENCH - is there a thread on this forum for intervention - no new projects ?

Ignore the Hello Kitty socks.  :-)   I redesigned a pair of shoes into a more 16th Century look.  I've tried to order period shoes but they simple are cut way too high on the heel for my feet.  I need to try shoes on in person.  When I found a pair of leather shoes in the thrift store that fit, I figured they'd be perfect to redesign.   :-)  $10 later, I have something that works well for Pennsic and the Renn Fest.

Finishing up a Ufo project as a surprise gift for a friend.

The ties are just like that for it to stay on the dressform. They should tie in the back behind the arms.

CS, what material is that?  It looks stunning!

Hehe!  Gem beat me to it, but yeah.  I think I need an intervention as well. :)

Bookwench... I think I might be seriously dense to have not seen it before... but I believe you and I are related.

Did I know this, and manage to forget it somehow?  It has been a rather, uhh... interesting... last couple of years, to say the least.

Butch, it is a burn out stretch velvet I had in my stash for about 7 or 8 years now.

Well, I'm glad you found the perfect use for it!  The front opening's hem is beautiful!

That does have a wonderful, graceful drape to it, doesn't it?  I'll have to keep an eye out for something similar for the grand kids.
   How heavy is it?

Here's my latest, a Radagast the Brown costume for Milord (a special request to meet Sylvester McCoy at a local con):

There are more photos & details on my dress diary (I have a great closeup of the hat/beard/wig, but it's oddly enormous).

I used an older (1990s) Simplicity Star Wars pattern for the robe, and drafted the angel wing sleeve. The collar is a wool boucle throw that we dyed brown, and the waistcoat is his existing Gimli tunic. I want to do a proper photoshoot out in the woods (minus the lanyard LOL); Radagast just doesn't look quite right in a convention hall! (But it snowed the day of the con so...)

Gem, that came out amazing ! Well done!!  How did you make the hat?  One of the dwarfs has a hat i would love to make for my faerie costume, but i am not sure where to start !
Got faerie dust?
