We've got rain here right now... and a little thunder and mild lightning, as well.  Might need to turn off the computer and unplug it for a bit, really... just to be on the safe side.  It's supposed to be decent here for the rest of the month... and I hope the weather guys keep displaying at least moderate proficiency in their chosen profession... because I would really LIKE to have a May that isn't in the 100s, for a change. 


B... as long as they don't start growing arms and legs I think you're probably ok... 

Got to love "Global Warming/Climate Change"... Next they'll switch back to Global Cooling, like in the '70's & 80's.

And to celebrate 1000 pages, a little something for all of you who threatened to lynch me for sending you excerpts of novels without having the finished thing on shelves- a completed short story from the anthology* I am working on (PG-13, language and violence) 

There, now you people can stop threatening me *glares at Rani and Fraser*

Wow... not bad for a lil' ole' thread from the sticks, huh?    heheh  Not bad, at all! 


And as for climate change... it's definitely real, although I think it's more climate SHIFT.  Things are moving around, and I'm not comfortable with it.    We never had anywhere near as many 100+ degree days here when I was a kid.  In fact, if we had 3-4 in a row it made the news, and they were warning people about heat stroke and staying cool... but now we have 30-40 consecutive 100+ degree days, and the winters here are weird, as well.  I miss the mountains... 


And B... I will definitely be reading that today!  It's about time I got to read something from you that didn't end with me saying "where the hell is the rest of it?!?"!

This is definitely the thread I post in most often, I'm sure!  Even when I'm MIA for weeks at a time, this is the one I come to first, and I always go all the way back to my last post and catch up before I post again, just to make sure I haven't missed anything important in the interim! So many members of our Fairmily drop in here, and it's a good place to catch up without having to worry about being "off topic"... since pretty much any topic is fair game in here!  It's nice to have the social space where we all know that we can post about whatever is going on in our lives at the moment, and find out what everyone else is doing, also... as well as discuss what everyone is doing to prep for the next Faire season... no matter WHICH Faire season is coming up!    heheh  Well, mostly TX Faires, of course... but every once in a while a neighboring event sneaks in here, as well... and I don't think anyone minds.  I also like the occasional link to B's literary works, and all of the ribbing and teasing of each other... the occasional joke or funny photo... and the sense of community that is always so welcoming whenever I click on this thread. 

It's so very much more than a simple countdown thread... it sort of reminds me of the cat-house in the Jimmy Stewart/Henry Fonda movie The Cheyenne Social Club!  LOL
