Oh, and B... I am a good source for the jewelry.  :D  I have a fairly large collection of bone, stone, metal, glass, wood and ceramic beads, and some cast brass and bronze circles that could easily be made into brooches.  I'm vending this weekend, but afterward I could take some pics of them if you are interested.

He'll probably try to sneak off to work before Monday, only to realize it's still the weekend...  ::)

 :P

I make more money at work than staring at my Nook... Luckily I have plenty of sick time/vacation time that, although it hurt, I'll survive the lost cash.   Yes, I'm bored.  ;D

*surgeon signed off on my work release for monday*  8) ;)

Fraser, I can relate to your boredom.  About 12 years ago I fell and broke my good leg. (Those that know me will understand, those that don't may ask).  I was stuck on the couch for 3 weeks, going mad.  Finally my boss brought me a laptop and some work to do, which helped me keep my sanity (such as it is).  Course, it helped that I was the only one who could do the sales tax reports.

I recommed you re-read some good books, watch some movies and sample your loki (unless you are still on pain meds).
And try not to overdo it on Monday.

No more streaking through the threads anymore if Fraser doesn't take care of himself. Don't go worrying us like that.

I've started on the last books in the Wheel of Time series...Sanderson did a good job...so far.  I was a bit upset when I found out Robert Jordan had passed and that someone else was going to finish it but his wife made a good choice.  David & Leigh Eddings had passed and I didn't know about it until about a year ago. :(. So much talent lost.

*George Martin needs to stop worrying about HBO and finish the damn books THEN relax*  >:(

It took me 4 years to talk myself into picking up The Gathering Storm... mainly because I was afraid that all of those people I had spent so many years getting to know would suddenly be... different.  I checked it out of the library 6 different times before I finally opened it and started reading.  I am happy to say that I'm mostly pleased with how the last 3 books were handled, and that they still "sound" like they are written in Jordan's "voice".  For the most part.  I tell myself that I can detect small differences in the way he might have written or worded this passage or that scene... but it's most likely just knowing they were written by someone else, and trying to find fault where there really is none.  Sanderson did a fine job, and I doubt they could have found anyone who would have done better.  Once I finished that first/twelfth book I immediately started reading the others!  They are definitely worth the read.  I'm extremely glad I waited until he finished the whole series, though... I couldn't have taken waiting the full 4 years for all 3 of them to be published!  lol

I started reading The Wheel of Time in early '93... and there were already 4 books in the series in print by then.   I, along with most of my friends at the time, waited breathlessly for the next novels to be published... and would buy one of the hardbacks and pass it around between about 20 of us... so we were always really careful to bribe whoever it was buying the next book, to ensure our place in the queue!  :D  Competition was fierce, as I recall... and occasionally involved things it's probably best not to mention here.  :o  ;D

So... while Middle Earth will always be the closest Land to my heart (since it was the first outside of this one that I ever really got to know)... the world that Jordan created is far more detailed in my mind, simply because I spent so many more years reading about it... and I know so much more about it's people... enough so that they are like old and dear friends that I enjoy visiting whenever I have the chance.
