Fraser, I purposefully put it in the back of the fridge, and pretended it wasn't there!  I had to hide it behind a bottle of something I probably never intend to finish, just so it wouldn't get brought out just any ol' time... but the time was definitely right on closing weekend.  I was in sore need of some Fairemily... even if it had to be found in the bottom of a bottle!  LOL  It was, too... that bottle is a mere shell of it's former self... and I had no hangover whatsoever, so I can absolutely attest to it's mellowness!  Delicious, as well, I assure you!  If I had been more on the ball I would have asked you to send me up a bottle of one of this year's flavors with Nasty!  You know... I STILL haven't seen that so-and-so ONCE since he moved up here... and WE LIVE IN THE SAME FREAKIN' TOWN!!!  I guess that's what happens when you get married and settle down to HAPPY all the time, huh?   

I certainly hope you can make it down next season, Rani.  I don't know if I have ever seen a larger crowd than was at the pub sing Saturday night.  Here's a first ... the Sea Devil pub ran OUT of beer about 45 minutes before the pub sing was over.  At the end, they had just a few bottles of wine ane mead left.  Can you imagine ... the biggest pub at TRF running out of beer?!

I put my camera up before the pub sing because it was after sundown, but wish I had kept it with me.  At one point, somebody passed around a life size, inflatable pirate (with parrot on his shoulder) in the crowd.  The inflatable pirate was crowd surfing for the last several minutes of the show! 

Everyone had a great time, and I toasted all of my friends who were not present.  It was truly magical.  Will visit New Market Village for a few hours on Sunday and am so thankful for all of the camaraderie at our beloved TRF.  This 40th season has been wonderful, but seems all too brief.

Sir Martin... it sounds wonderful, truly it does!  I can certainly imagine them running out of beer, if they have moved from the POW to the Sea Devil, and the crowds are that huge!  I recall the last time we were there for it at the POW, and how the crown blocked the whole lane trying to get close enough to actually SEE the pirates, who were standing on the tables to sing!  It's no wonder they had to move it... since it's such a wonderful parting ritual, and so very poignant... not to mention rowdy, raucous and downright ribald, as well!  LOL  Still, it was such an intimate thing when it was at the POW, and the picnic tables were the stage, surrounded by laughing, crying, singing patrons, all wanting to make the day, the weekend and the season last just a few moments more.  I like the Sea Devil, though, and you can definitely get a whole lot more people in there, that's for sure!  Of course, my very favorite part of ALL of it is spending time with all of you!  I have missed that more than I can say...


Oh, and I'm STILL hoping I can talk a TX contingent into coming up here for our Norman Medieval Fair in the spring!  It will be the last weekend of March, the 27, 28 & 29th... and I have plenty of room in the backyard for tents!    I even have a firepit and a charcoal grill... and tables, chairs, benches and faerie lights out there!  Not to mention the indoor flushie, and the hot shower... oh, and the fridge full of FOOD!  Yes... I will FEED EVERYONE!  You might have to provide some booze... but I promise to help you all drink it!  And our van seats 7, so 5 of your could even ride with us to Faire.  Hell, we even have spare garb! 

Hmmm... I just realized that's closing weekend of Sherwood... but surely not everyone will be going that weekend... right?  (sigh)  I know our Faire isn't huge, and it doesn't draw the REALLY big name entertainment... but those we do get are top notch... and it isn't known as one of the best shopping Faires in the country for nothing, you know!  You can find things up here that you might pay twice as much for at any other Faire... just let that sink in.    And check out the vendor list while you're at it...
