I was trying to avoid thinking about the impending (at that point, anyway) event, which has now taken place, and was altogether horrid as I feared it might be, although for completely unforeseen reasons.

Well, it's been a pretty decent Christmahanakwanziyulika around here, and I'm pretty sure I'll be winning Mom Of The Year, this time.   


Miss ScallyWag is the proud, happy and extremely excited new owner of her first electric guitar... and she can already play the intro to Metallica's Enter Sandman, by ear, from memory!  She can also already play the chord progressions for a few of the songs from her favorite band... and sing at the same time.  I have the distinct feeling that she'll be forming her own band within the year.

I came across something that you die-hard TRFers might find interesting. It's a one pound note from the 1988 season. I believe this may be the first year we attended. The bride still has a goblet of the queen dated `89.

Very nice find, Merlin.  I'm not sure I've ever seen paper currency from TRF.  Is there any way you can take a picture of it, or scan it and share with us?

Merlin, I would also very much like to see the note you came across!  We have coins from various Faires, in various years, but I can't say that I have ever seen one print it's own paper money, either.
