Thank you both for the compliments!
This is my first effort at a fabric ruff (I have made some from grosgrain ribbon before).   Other than organza being a PITA to cut, this was a fun and informative project.  I will probably switch out the ribbons for hooks and eyes.
I still want to make a non gathered (lays flat) collarless organza partlet to go with this.
If I can't find my MA pattern; I'll adapt the LM by leaving off the collar.
What doesn't kill me-had better run.

Not the least bit Renn but since we seem to have gotten away from posting all not Renn things in the Mundane thread anyway....

This is my new, pink silk taffeta Regency Era (early 1820's) Spencer.  Any visible stitches were done by hand.  It's lined in cotton.  I used the Sense and Sensibility double breasted spencer as a base and edited the pattern to get it to where I wanted it.  It's a little big around the waist still but it works well.  I wore it last night to a 12th Night Ball.

Very pretty, Isabella!  I can imagine how flattering that pink is with your complexion, also!  I hope you'll be posting photos of yourself wearing it.  :)

Huzzah Isabella, and well met. Beautiful as always.

My Elizabethan gown ensemble, inspired by the White Gown from Episode 3 of ELIZABETH R is finished and ready to wear next month at the annual gathering of the Minnesota Fest Friends Spring Feast. Then to wear to other Festivals.

The Italian Bonnet and Chemise, I made last year. The Chemise, gown Bodice, Sleeves, Underskirt with forepart, and Picadils, were hand drafted. I used no commercial pattern.

Dinobabe:  nice job.  How did you assemble the feathers for the plume?

Except for the blue and green fluffy feathers that curl over the top I found the pre-made peacock plume in the "floral/decorator" dept at Wal-Mart for $2.50.  I couldn't believe it, what a find!  I just taped the other feathers to the peacock plume using floral tape.  I have bought several and use them in lots of different head pieces.  It's on a long metal stick.  I curled the end and stitched in to place on the hat.

16th century doublet and unpaned trunkhose in black linen. My first crack at men's wear.
Big long write up and more photos are on my site.

Final fitting shots before the sleeves went in permanently.

CenturiesSewing, LOVE that outfit.   ;D  It looks absolutely perfect.

Here's my Germa-Bethan, almost totally complete.  The hemd isn't the one I intended for this, but I've run out of time to finish it.  This hemd is from my green and red German gown, the one with the red hat you see in my avatar.

The sparkly jewel booch on this green hat is a memento of my mother.

So this is the closest I have come to anything historical so far.  Every time I make a new outfit I dig a little deeper, so to speak, and learn a lot for the next time.  I drafted the bodice pattern myself.
I also wrote up a little diary for the hat in case anyone is interested.  It is made from a Wal-Mart find!
