I live in Texas City, we got dumped on.  We had 7 inches by 10:30 and a few more after that.  Next weekend we will have to mow!  Haven't in over a month...
Got faerie dust?

It was in the 70's here all day, today.  Never even broke 75*, in fact.  I am loving this end of summer weather!  :D  I know it's going to get back up into the 90's a couple of times more, but the summer heat has broken, and I can feel autumn in the air... and it feels good.  Woodsmoke is swirling through the campground in my mind, and the memories of laughter and Celtic music are urging me to pull out the garb bins, and to sew something new!  This time of year I always want to make something warm and cozy to wear, even though I seldom get a chance to wear any of it to any of the Faires we attend.  The best I can usually hope for is that our spring Medieval Fair coincides with a chilly, blustery weekend!  Sadly, though, it's usually already hot and humid by then... but hopefully El Niño will keep things cooler this year, so we can wear our chilly weather garb for a change!  I've been wanting to try my hand at Turkish garb for a few years, now... but I would also really like something a lot more medieval than anything I have now, as well.  I have plenty of fabric in my stash, so maybe it's time to see what I can come up with.

What sort of prep have all of you been doing so far?  I know Fraser has been oiling his leather, and Trill has new dance garb... anyone else?  New tents, maybe?  Other camping gear?  Boots, hats, sharp pointy things?  C'mon, now... we may not be able to get down there to see it all, but we still like to keep up with everyone's Faire prep news!

Rani, they've already had snow up in Calgary, AB & there's still snow on the ground, in Northern Scotland, from last year....

Something tells me we're in for a cold one. Start knitting.

Mostly just trying to save up enough money to enjoy a few weekends at TRF.  I have been thinking about getting a new hat, though.  Not sure what might look good.

I'm with you, Sir Martin...It's going to be a bit tight this year.  :-\ :(
