My daughter in the French court garb that she designed and I made.  The lovely silver embroidery was done by a fellow costumer with a great embroidery machine.  Sarah made her groom's clothing and did a great job of tailoring his coat and getting the collar of the waistcoat just right.   I have really been impressed with the speed in which her skills have advanced!  She is one year from getting her BFA in Tech Theater with a focus on costuming and make-up.

Very beautiful.  The gown is lovely, too!  ;)

Thanks all, I thought that my daughter was a lovely bride, but I come with a lot of biased in that direction.

Lady K, wow! that is a nice doublet.  I would be interested in seeing a shot of it on the person you made it for.

I'm currently working on my spite piece for Fishers Ren, which may (keeping fingers crossed and lots of coffee brewed) be done for the Sept. 6th weekend at Ohio....

It's a lovely saffron yellow velvet with hunter green forepare and sleeves...Pics will be posted as soon as it's done!

I'm not fat, it's just that a skinny body couldn't hold ALL THIS PERSONALITY! ;)

I've finished my Elizabethan loose gown and kirtle.... it's much too big for me, as I'm not keeping it - but I like to have a picture of myself in everything I make.  It's completely washable, and the main fabrics (purple velvet and embossed butter yellow cotton) are drapes from a thrift store... the fuschia linen and buttery gauze were purchased, as was the trim and buttons.  This was a fun project, and I love how it turned out!

Lady Caroline

That is so pretty, LaurenLee!

LadySeasan

Ok Ladies!  I am finished! Well I had to be finished to wear the dress to opening day for the MDRF, but....now I have PICTURES!

Here you go!

Huzzah to the seamstresses!

LadySeasan, your sewing skills are growing by leaps and bounds.  Congratulations on another triumph!
Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

LadySeasan

thank you so much! i loved it, and received many compliments and suggestions on it. it was fun talking about techniques and such to make the next piece better. but for now, i am gonna keep this as my main piece. there are still some adjustments i would like to make to it, but i love this piece

the next project is my boyfriends doublet :)  which i look forward to making.

and i will probably do another dress, but this time i must get a real hoopskirt :)
