Great cloak!  What do you mean by "getting waterproofing"?

I'm gonna buy some type of waterproofing agent - Camp Dry, neat's foot oil, something - so I can wear it when it's raining.

Here's a photo taken 08 of Fred and his "brother Ibraheim". Middle Eastern weekend. I made the garb on the right. He had many compliments on it, even from people who actually were from the Middle East.  :)

I made R a new red wool kilt this year.

This is my grandaughter in the wizard garb I made for her. She helped me sell our magic wands this year.

These are both of my grandaughters, wearing the garb I made for them. The dress on the right is magenta velveteen, with embroidered gold taffeta underskirt. Designed by my grandaughter and sewn by me. She is 7 years old.  :)

This is my woodland fae garb, that I made this year.

Some more garb I made for myself this year.

What a creativity and talent, people! Wow.

Marietta Graziella

Lady L where do you find the time?!?   What marvelous talents your possess.  I wish I could whip out so many beautiful pieces.  I remember your long list of goodies you made last year!

Huzzah!

Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Absolutely beautiful Lady L.  WOW I have to second Marietta.  Where do you find the time to make so many pieces of garb?

I love your leaf gown Lady L, I was thinking of doing something similar soon with crewel embroidery.

Heres the pics of my bedrest bodice project with the finished skirt, not sure if I like the color combo but I doubt I'll be keeping either piece anyway, just needed something to keep me busy. The back didn't lace all the way closed, I "may" have gained some weight after my surgery.

Thank you Marietta! My sons are grown and not living at home anymore, so I have more time to do what *I* want to do now. I also think, if I don't do it now, when am I going to do it? Another thing is, I do sew faster than I paint. As long as I can see and my hands are able, I will keep sewing as much as possible.  ;D

Thank you Master James! I appreciate the compliment.
One of my secrets is to make "mix and match" pieces. Another tip is to sew several garments from the same pattern at the same time.  :)

Lorraine-I think your bodice colors are beautiful! If you don't like the skirt color, I would suggest a deeper, richer brown. I think that would make the bodice colors "pop" even more. I think it looks lovely the way it is, though.

Thanks for the compliment on my leaves! I really enjoyed doing that. It was supposed to go with the wood elf I made for R, aka Hawthorne Deciduous Oakwood, a few year's ago, but we ended up not wearing them the same day. I liked the light sage blouse I wore with it better than the tan, but somehow that photo was lost. I think I should make a light green underskirt too. And that is another tip-start now, for next year. Don't wait!

The magenta gown I whipped up the last week before MNRF ended.
I didn't get the hoop skirt (although I ordered it Sept. 2007) until opening day of 2008. So, I didn't know if I would even have it. I put a 4" hem in the gown, so it should still fit her next year. I want to add more beads/trim to it. I also made a french hood, so she has that for halloween.  ;D

Here is a pic of more detail on my sisters black velvet sleeve.

I will post pics of our new courtesan outfits as soon as I find a full length shot of them...  we forgot our camera last weekend and have to rely on all the other fabulous photographers at TRF...
