We go to Scotland to visit Castle Gloom
Not, I'm not kidding. It was renamed Castle Campbell after the fifteenth century.
Castle Campbell stands high on a rocky outcrop between the Burn of Sorrow and the Burn of Care in central Scotland.

Today we are going to visit Holland and see De Haar Castle
De Haar Castle is probably the most visited castle in the Netherlands, after Muiden Castle. This Gothic fairy-tale castle we see today however was built from 1892 till 1912 with incorporation of the large 15th century ruins of the original castle.

Ooh, I'll have to put that one on my list to visit when I get a chance to go to Netherlands...

I just love seeing your castles each day.  I visited so many when I was in Greece, Ireland, England, and France.  Yeah castles!

Oh, that last one... good thing I was NOT wearing a corset.

I REALLY want to go visit that one.  No, I don't.  I wouldn't leave...

Sigh.

Back to sunny Italy for Castello della Pietra
,Castle of the Rock being a fitting name.
What makes this pile of ruins interesting is the fact that there are records of a castle here in the 10th century. This makes this castle one of the oldest that is still obviously a castle.

top of the rocks pictured below, as you can see the acent is difficult and dangerous.

Wow, the dark clouds in the first picture there make the castle look so eerie. But it's beautiful at the same time.

Cardigan Castle in Wales is our stop for today.
Cardigan Castle, dating back to the 12th century and site of the first Eisteddfod, is currently undergoing a complete restoration programme.
