That's alot of people they're laying off and a cut of production by 80% is HUGE!!!  They're talking this stuff on CNN.  They are doing it to offset the gas prices partially...  Circuit city is filing bankrupcy as well, but will keep their stores open and pay employees while they work on restructuring under bankrupcy filing with the Government.

I heard about DHL on the way home but they didn't go into detail.

They are closing two of the circuit city stores near here. one has only been opened a few months.

All the linens and things are closing as well.

Not suprised. Every company I've worked for that has had DHL deliver has had really bad service with them. They've come to be known around here as "Delivers Hours Late". It wouldn't be so bad if say, stuff that's supposed to arrive by 7 am actually got there before NOON.  I just feel bad for all of their domestic workers here that are effected by the cut.

My nephew (  my older  sisters  are much, much, older  then  me.seriously,  i was  a bonus  baby !)   , was  a sales  representative  for  DHL.
  From what he  told  my mom, DHL  just sort of  folded up one  night without saying anything  to their  sales  reps  or employees.  He is  now  without a job.

along with DHL & Circuit City, Linens n' Things is closing out...so far their clearance is at 40% off. With all the bargain hunters out there, I wonder what the effect will be on Bed, Bath, & Beyond.
