Christmas Eve we go to my mother in law's place, the menu is set in stone:  oyster stew (yum!), pork crown roast, wild rice, lefse, and pretty much everything else.

Christmas day dinner is at our house.  Pretty sure I'm making rock cornish game hens in a sesame ginger marinade.  My mother in law will join us, my parent's were scheduled to join us, but Dad is sidelined by a little surgery issue.  That being said, our 3 kids are at home, so there will be plenty of people.

yorkshire pudding?  yorkshire pudding!  I love yorkshire pudding but haven't had any since my Aunt Mary died nearly 8 years ago, used to be a stable for us.  Damn will have to think about adding it to my menu if I can find Aunt Mary's recipe around some place.

Xmas at my parents house.

Aside from the usual Holiday Fare (i.e. Mashed taters, corn, asparagus, stuffing, rolls, etc, etc, ad nauseum) my dad's getting a Tur-Duck-Hen this year....should be interesting.

If you can't find your aunt's recipe, here's  mine if you're interested.  It's a very simple dish, basically a puff pancake.

4 T. roast beef fat and drippings
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Add the beef drippings to a well seasoned cast iron skillet,  (a 9x9 or 11x7 casserole will work too).  Let sit in oven to get hot and sizzle a bit while mixing the batter.  Mix the flour, milk, salt and eggs.  Pour into hot pan and bake approx. 25 min. (depending on oven) or until golden and puffy.  Serve immediately with roast beef and gravy.  Serves 6.

the best, with some nice juicy medium rare prime rib. have never enjoyed yorkshire pudding with anything save mr prime rib, and perhaps a damn good brisket.

Thanks Lady Neysa its sounds like what I remember of my Aunt's recipe at least the cast iron skillet is the same.

Usually Christmas Dinner is split between my parents and Hubby's parents house.  And all we do is show up.  But this year we are going only to Hubby's parents for Christmas Dinner and the only details about dinner that I have are bring lots of our wonderful Deviled Eggs.

Due to some health issues of my mundane brother, we are going to have Christmas dinner at the Red Lion Pub in Houston.  I have always wanted the traditional dinner of Fish & Chips for Christmas.  Normally I hate to go out to eat on Holidays but this year is different.  Too bad my mundame brother can't join us but they won't let him out of the hospital yet, though I am considering smuggling him out on StudMuffin.
