I'm surprised it's taken this long to make a move.  I went completely bald after my first treatment - including body hair.  Believe me, nose hair is there for a reason.  After I finished chemo, my head hair came back - but not as strong & shiny as it was pre-chemo.  The rest of my hair is very sparse - which is a good thing!  But my nose hair grew back like it had been fertilized.  Hitler is not a good look on anyone.

Hope you're doing well - you continue to be in my thoughts.

Thanks for that great pic of Ron, Lady G! He has such very kind eyes, and the mohawk looks like it was stylin'! Maybe not the look for me these days, but at 21 I was definitely into the "alternatative" look...  LOL

Taffy, I'm not sure how I've managed to keep it this long, and it's still not thin enough for me to say "shave it", but it won't be so very much longer...

I'm not so sure about the nose hair story...  ROFL!!!  I think I may have to do some serious praying about that one!!!   :o

Thank you for sharing your stories with me, though, ladies! It definitely helps break through the funk... and I have found that the blue meanies don't like laughter!!!

Rani I know that we have not met yet in person but don't let the fact that your hair getting caught in strands in your hands worry you.If it were to all fall out today you would still be one of the most beautiful ladies ever in my eyes.Looks on the outside are just part of what makes a person but really and truly it's what's on the inside that counts. You know after reading your last update post I had a vision of myself sitting in your house waiting to take you out on a date with me.You were upstairs still getting ready but you were also dreading coming downstairs to meet me cause you were scared that I would not accept the fact that you had just lost all your hair due to your still ongoing chemo therapy.Well downstairs your living room I was waiting in was not empty. There was a houseful of people there including myself.

After waiting about 15 to 20 minutes you finally decided to come downstairs to meet me for our date but at the same time you still had that frightened look in your face. When I asked you why you looked so scared I looked up and noticed a scarf wrapped around and tight on your head to match the pretty clothes you were wearing for the date. When I went to ask you why the scarf was on your head you looked at me with the fear in your eyes and you said "Lord W that is why I was so scared to come down to meet you".Well after you said that to me a big burst of laughter filled the room along with all the people chanting she's balled that's why as they were making fun of you.

I then remembered in my vision that I had me reaching up going for the scarf on your head going to untie it when all of a sudden you burst out into tears saying "No Lord W please don't take that scarf off my head" while you were shaking in fear as well worrying that people would start making fun of you even more.Well after managing to get you to calm down for a minute I then remembered reaching around and starting to untie the scarf on your.As I was untying your scarf I could still feel you trembling in fear and I from the corner of my eye could still see the tears still coming down your face.I finally manage to remove the scarf that was covering your head and low and behold I noticed why you were so scared and thinking that I would change my mind and not want to go out with you any more. The last part of my vision I remembered catching a bunch of criticism from the other people in the room making fun of me cause I was as they said "About to go out with a lady that had no hair".

The bottom line is Rani that no matter what people may think of you in our eyes you will always be one of the most beautiful people ever that we have met on here.In the short time that I known you on here it has been a privilege to be able to call you my friend and sweetie believe me when I tell you that I would not trade that (calling you my friend) for anything in the world. The thing to remember is that no matter what other people may think of you that you still have friends out there where you live and on here that care for you and will be there for you no matter what the situation is.I'm sorry if I sounded so long winded but I felt that I needed to share with you what was on my heart. You and your daughter continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.Always remember that you will no matter what have your friends to count on no matter what the situation may be.I love you my friend and may God bless you and your little girl both.

Rani as you saw from my last post I was trying paint a picture of what people can be like in situations like the one your in and I was also trying to let you know that the opinion that matters is that the one you have of yourself.I am glad though I could brighten your mood a little though.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness, Lord W! I'm not worried about what anyone will think when I lose my hair, though... It's just hair, and it's been so many different lengths in the last 44 years that as short as possible isn't really going to be all that shocking for anyone who knows me!!!  LOL

Not too bad, lately... My symptoms have let up a bit since I started the new nausea meds, and I can usually control the fevers with the ibuprofen. I'd rather not take between 9 and 20 pills a day (ibuprofen are 200 mg, and I need 1000 twice a day on treatment days), but it gets me through.

I've also been having much more fun lately, and you have no idea how much that helps!!!   ;D

It's really nice to occasionally have someone call and talk for hours, and suddenly I have a few of you who have made it a mission to brighten my days, and even a few of my nights, as well!!! You have no idea how much I appreciate that! You are all so wonderful!!!

You'll be glad to know the nose hair did back off - eventually.  You might want to invest in some hats or caps that you like.  I developed a taste for baseball caps & still wear them on a regular basis.  You'll also want a knit cap to wear at night - the cheapo dollar store kind.

Take care - you continue to be in my thoughts.

Thanks Taffy,

I think I'll be going for the scarf look, with maybe a few knit scull caps, but the more I think about it the more I really want to do the henna thing, at least for Faire. In fact, I'm actually kind of excited about it! I can already picture myself in the Gypsy garb with my whole scalp hennaed in really beautiful traditional designs...

I plan on rockin' the lanes this season, and who knows, maybe I'll start the next big trend!!! LOL
