LOL  You really are a nerd, if you're keeping track of the number of your forum posts.

Of course... I'm just a little red in the face about mine.  :-[  ::)   I have been accused of being a "post-aholic"... :P  but there's someone else here who joined a bit less than a year later than I did, who is rapidly rising in the posting stats, and will likely have caught up with me in the not-too-distant-future...  :P  heheh

I actually only noticed that when I saw one of my other previous posts! lol...

Post-a-holic? Pish-posh.

Hope you're having a good day, Rani! :)

Thank you, hon!  It's ok... but we're not at the lake, and I'm a bit bummed about that.  Seems that there was a bit of a snafu over who was supposed to send me the check for the design work I finished last week... so it won't be here until tomorrow.  Which put a real kink in our weekend plans...  >:(

Pretty windy for the lake today, though... but slight overcast and not too hot, so maybe we'll walk up to the park later instead.  Hope you, and everyone else here, is having a bit of fun today!

Fraser, are you burning that meat today, or was that yesterday?  ;)

Burned those nasty little chickens and porky chops yesterday... leftovers, without any prep, on the menu for tonight.  ;)

Sounds tasty... baking a smoked, honey glazed ham over here today (Scally's fav), with roast new potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, seasoned green beans and corn bread.  Should have leftovers for days...

That sounds so yummy. Send some my way!

I've been hankering kabobs, myself. With lots of mushrooms and onions. *mouth waters like Homer Simpson*

I'm splendid. That is all.

C'mon over!  Looks like there will be enough for everyone...  :D

I have the ham baking in the white-flecked blue enamel roasting pan that belonged to my grandmother... that roasted every turkey and baked every ham for all the family gatherings of my childhood and beyond... and I can't help believing it will taste even better for being seasoned with all those memories.

Hmmm... might have to make one of my maple/pecan tarts later, for dessert!  I brought two of them last year for Celtic Christmas, and didn't make it home with even a bite!!!  :D  Ooooh, I can make fresh whipped cream, also!  I think we might just be having a feast today...

Sorry... I'll cook it, but if you want some then you've got to come and get it yourself!  :P  It would cost you quite a bit to have me deliver this all the way down there... lol.

And the tart was just as good today as it was on Thanksgiving!  The pecans were from the tree that was in the backyard of my grandparents home, before they moved to live with my mother.  There is still a whole upright freezer full of them, so we won't be running out any time soon, and they will keep frozen for quite a long time.

Unfortunately, the wee one won't do well there, and Tiff starts her new job tomorrow, so... bah. Fraser, get your butt down there and have fun in my stead :D

And live inside walls in an environmentally controlled box for at least 6 months out of every year?  Do you know how absolutely insane it would make me to never be able to go outside without feeling ill?

Believe me... if I though I could survive down there I would live there already!!!  You have no idea how much I want to be around all of you on at least a semi-regular basis... and to be able to have two amazing Faires to play at in the spring and the fall!  If I had the choice, I'd be there now, even knowing how miserable I'd be in the heat...

Austin has tons of food trucks/trailers selling everything from gourmet food to chicken and waffles to doughnuts to tacos.  We read a bunch of reviews and saw several on both the food network and travel channel and being foodies, we decided to try to get as many in as we could over the weekend. So, we took off down there, crashed with some friends, and went all over town from truck to truck getting whatever they are known best for and splitting it.

At night we hit  up a few wine bars, bars, the staples like Casino, Elysium, Stubbs, and so on.

And lived to tell the tale!  So, what all did you have, and how many of you went?  Sounds like fun!!!

Ok... I'm just about to watch Mutant Chronicles...  ka-reeeeepy!!!  :o

Four set out on the adventure.

What didn't I eat would be a better question. We started on the north end of town and worked our way south back across the river. Probably hit about 20 or so trucks. Some examples are biscuit and gravy. donuts, chicken and waffles, thai food, pizza, tacos, fish and chips, some vegan thing i didnt know what it was but it tasted good, burgers, ugh the list goes on.

Also, Penelope Cruz makes a hot pirate.

And you would have 3 good faires to attend if you lived here  :D
