Just wanted to bring this to the top again ....

Well, the best possible outcome was that Robbie would open that eye tuesday morning, and see almost normally.  that is not what happened.
He says it is definitely "better" and Dr's initial test confirm that. although we had hoped for an quick return of clear vision, there is still alot of swelling, and "junk" floating in  the ocular orb.  he's got another recheck next week with hopes of continued improvement.  The doc said that yes, we had hope things would be better then they are, but a quick return of site is not always the case, and there is not necessarily a reason to be alarmed.  There was talk of a possible contact lens for that eye, an outside chance of another surgery, etc.
so we're back to.... don't know anything for sure yet.

so, we're not out of the woods yet.  There is more to be done.  Please keep those fingers crossed, candles burning, and good thoughts coming.

OK, sorry for the dealy.  been a bit busy.  ;-)

and the latest is..... Much better.
At his last Dr. visit on Monday, Robbie was pronounced with 20/60 vision... which is a far cry from the 20/400 that he had 2 weeks ago.
The doc says that we should see a "bit" more improvement with healing, but that is going to be about as good as it gets. Which is still within a range that can be corrected with eye glasses (Rob says he wants a monocle so he can look like the Monopoly guy).  He says has good depth perception for driving, and can see "mostly".  That eye is just kinda blurry.
Now, considering that 90% of people with this kind of injury end up with a glass eye, we're all pretty happy with the outcome.  Not perfect, but something we can all live with.

I, and Robbie, thank all of you for your wishes, prayers and good thoughts.  It's pretty remarkable the support network that opened up for him..... and considering again that 90% of people with this kind of injury end up with a glass eye..... I believe that it made a difference.

You all have my deepest thanks.
