Before the day is over you realise not only did you sing along with all the musical groups during the show you also sang along with their tip song.

For the last year, every time you get dressed for the mundane world you are almost disgusted by what until recently you found to be perfectly nice clothes in your closet.
Therefore you set you mind to create a ren meet mundane set of clothes that will finally reflect your true personality in every day life.

Lots more peasant shirts, cinchers, and leather soon to be joining the closet and daily life.

You go to the faire box office to pick up your season pass, and the cashier tells you not to bother with I.D. because she remembers you from last year, and the year before that, etc.

I had this -exact- same thought ( kinda? ) at the Sherwood Celtic Fest. I was coming down the hill to the Joust area, so I had a good overlook of the seating area. I looked over the crowd, and good gods I was disappointed/sad? in humanity. You saw the people in garb, all varied and colored and reflecting themselves and dressed for the climate... And then the Danes, literally all of them in jeans and some sort of shirt on a 90 degree day, just looked all the same. And all horribly uncomfortable. I was in a light tank top and white skirt, and I was still, at times, sweaty. Why would you dress like that if it will just make you miserable all day long? Now, I love my ragged jeans and band t-shirts, but I will say after getting into garbing I realized how much we don't dress for ourselves/the environment anymore.

Yes, this is how I dress.  My house also has a medieval and/or Renaissance flair to it's decor; very rustic witb some antiques and reproductions as well as some tapestries, rugs, candelabra, and pewter, etc. to give it that allover look.  I have been drawn to this look since before I attended faire, before I can remember actually.  I was just always into history and the love of art and all things old.   I also garden and prepare food, not necessarily in olde worlde fashion on purpose, but just to get back to the basics of simple organics.  My husband and I are also looking into acquiring some chicks so we can have fresh eggs, plus my kids would love them as pets.

And although I do love my electronic gadgets as they help me connect with others who love similar things and to be able to learn more at my fingertips any time of day, I do long for those simple times where there were no computers or smart phones.  They are a blessing and a curse all at once.

Not sure if this should go in the your are a ren parent or here but here goes....

You are out killing time between appointments at a baby store when you find yourself looking at stuff for your kiddo.  You over look the frilly, candy sweet princess bedding and decor and are  instead drawn to the pirate ship play set, and the skull and cross bones styled bedding.  When a clerk comes over to ask you if they can help you, with out thinking you ask "Does this come in Pink?"

Sadly the answer is NO but they do make the whole bedding set in full size bedding for the 'big kids'.  ;D

It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

I don't know if this applies, but when I get out of the shower, half the time I forget my bath towel doesn't have kilt straps and buckles...
It ain't the years, it's the mileage.

You are getting dressed for a big mundane trade show- and you are soon reminded that "your dressing for the boat show, not for warrior princess" and are saddened that your most comfy boots (slouchy leather ranger boots) don't go with the rest of the outfit

When most every dream that you can rememer having while you sleep is about you at Faire and when you wake up and realize it was just a dream you spend the whole day feelimg dissapointed...

or...

You spend 400 ollars on your 3rd pair of garb boots just because they look better with the new kilt, but think WalMart is out of their mind to charge 20 bucks for a pair of work shoes...[/
