LOL, Hoowil!  I went with my wife to pick out her car, and the salesman looked at me and asked me some detail, and I responded, "Talk to her. It's her car!"   I don't like this gender association crap.

LMAO
When we went to buy my Colorado truck it was similar, but we like to play it up a bit instead of being so straight forward.  The salesman quickly caught on that I wasn't some little girl being bought a present!  I really blew his mind when I told him flat blank that I WAS NOT paying for the work that had been done on my S-10 truck (they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, electrical issues) and I wanted that money back in the price of the new one!!!  Greatest expression ever!!  :o

Frankly, I'm glad to see more men on this forum take up sewing.  It's a great skill to have, it's creative, and fun.  Good job guys!!!

I have to admit that I've wanted to start making my own costumes for years, but haven't because of "what people would say."  I had peasant gear, which I put together cheaply, but I wanted to move into something fancier.  And this is coming from someone who really despises it when people are forced into traditional gender roles.  I finally said screw it and jumped right in.  I'm glad I did, it's been a lot of fun so far.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

... it takes years, but you finally realize that all the pictures of your kids you have in your office at work are of them in garb. And it doesn't seem strange.

This might be a bit 'gallows humor' but I needed it today.

She was pretty down all day Thursday.  We even missed dance class because she physically didn't feel up to it.  She's in better spirits now but I have a feeling going back to Scarby will be hard for her that first weekend.

You are pegged as a rennie by another rennie at a mundane event because of the sandals you are wearing.   ;D

you and the hubby are walking through Walmart & see a display of cotton Halloween "comfy" drawstring pants, black with skulls all over them, and he says, "cut them below the knee, put a ruffle at the bottom, and they would make great pirate bloomers."

You plan on going on your first vacation in years, and its going to be all walking all day,
and of course your shoes of choice are your ren boots.
I have spent 12 hrs on those things in rocky terrain and they keep my footsies comfy.

Instead of practicing with your bands that have upcoming shows and recording a cd followed by a possible tour you are busy learning RenFaire songs.

If the one time you don't wear garb you wear a shirt that says 'does this shirt make me look danish?'
