Well, the storm system formerly known as Gustav is here in the upper midwest for a visit. It's been raining since about 1 am, and isn't supposed to stop for several hours yet. Also, it was 92 degrees Tuesday, and the high today is 63, thanks to the cold front that got pulled down from Canada by ol' Gus.

See the tiny spot beside the itty bitty blotch of turquoise blue?  That's Grand Turk.  The Turquoise spot is the Caicos Islands.

Thankfully the damage was only minimal,It could have been a lot worse.

Yeah...that was just a "brush" from a category 1 storm.

There was worst damage but I couldn't get to those areas.  This was just the accessible stuff.

What have you decided to do? Shelter? I know people who rode out Andrew (a cat 4) in Miami. They had a good strong house and good shutters and were not in a flood zone. I also know folks who rode it out in the bathroom of a hotel. (They left where they thought it would hit and ended up in Andrews path.) They say it took five of them to keep the bathroom door closed. When they emerged half the hotel was gone. Stay safe down there Donna.
