Now that I have TokiBloodaxe finished, I am workingnon Lady Delaney;s first Venetian Cortesan ensemble. I have the roomy breeches ready to get made, the Bodice has been lightly boned and put together, the Chemise finished, the panels for the  skirt will need to be cut.

Dummy me realized I was short on the Silk. So I ordered another 3 yards of the Pumpkin Pie to make sure I had enough for the arm band and  hanging sleeves. I will be burining the Midnight Oil because the next month is jammed packed.

Here's an idea Lady DeLaney for a Courtesan gown sent me that she just loved. Instead of an underskrt, I am doing Breeches.

Lady Kathleen I *just* watched Dangerous Beauty the other day and fell in love with the Venetian Courtesan dresses. I've never really *wanted* to make myself a Royal Renaissance outfit, and this style struck me. I think this post cemented it, lol; I *will* have a Courtesan dress! (Someday.) Is there a pattern you can recommend, or can I just use the MA Royal Wardrobe pattern with some alterations and without all the underpinnings? I can't wait to see your finished product--what a lucky woman Lady DeLaney is!

The bodice I am making is based  on a corset I made for Lady De Laney.

I also have to ad that the input Lady DeLaney gives me makes what I end up for her ,unique. Input from a client is what produces the end results of what I do.

The joy of Customers!  Good ones give you brilliant ideas and make the sparks fly.

Making Progress on Lady De Laney's venetian Courtesan ensemble. I have yet to make the shoulder straps and add the trim. The back is marked for grommets.

I have yet to make the skirt that will bustle from underneath, the Breeches. The front and back of the chemise is underlined because the fabric is sheer.

The Gold pieces are Venise Lace Yoke pieces from Cheep Trims. I do not have a machine that does Embroidery. So i had ton cheat some how to get a similar desired effect.

Being re-worked as this is not what I had in mind or planned. The front tab will be slightly longer and thinner and the tabs will angle slightly up from the front being thinner as well. The applique is coming off as is the trim on each tab. The trim will be placed up the front in the middle of the bodice and then along the top edge all the way to the back. This dress is a cross between Dangerous Beauty the Orange intro dress in the movie and the one pictured here. There will be two more tabs added to each side of the front as well

The skirt will not have an underskirt but will be split and very full flaring and slightly bustled with breeches worn underneath.

In the movie her's laces in the front. The blue dress will do this wit a panel that is separate and can be slipped in as the dresses is being "cinched" but the Pumpkin pie will lace in the back and have modesty panels

I redid the Bodice and it looks 100% better. More like it should have at the start.

Will post photos. I am working on the Breeches.

I completely redid the entire Courtesan Bodice becuase it just did not look right and Lady DeLaney suggested good changes.

The Bodice redo . Much better!!

Sice shot. While not very noticible, the tabs angle a bit. It will become more evident when worn.

Closeup of the trim. I am going to mke shoulder straps, ad the reim that I was able ton piece together that for some of the tabs and the lonher piece on the first bodice.

The Breesches are in progress. The Skirt as I await more Silk that I ordered.

The previous bodice looked good, but that is lovely.

Oh yes, big improvement on an already lovely piece.
It doesn't hurt that the color is one of my favorites.
