I'm working on a gown I've been planning since uh...last year?  i think. I should double check my blog post.   ;)   Anyway, the gown is going to be similar to the Dangerous Beauty gowns as well. ;D  However, it's out of a lovely dark aqua silk embroidered with pink flowers.  Since this gown will be for a Mad Hatter Tea, I need to make a ridiculous hat for it, right?

I decided I wanted a cupcake hat.

Here's what I have thus far:

The fabric for the dress...

And a better view of the "cupcake":

The wrapper will be out of some pink metallic organza.  I'm using it for the chemise and sleeves as well.

That fabric is off the hook Isabella and the hat is going to be just the perfect "mad" touch.

I am back at work on the Blue Cortesan. I made an attempt to make a partlet like chemis for underneath the bodice, but is not working out the way I had hoped. So I am thinking of ditching that effort, but making an arm band with trim and hanging fabric down the arm.

The inspiration gown from 'DANGEROUS BEAUTY'

My take on this gown. I have Sapphire Oval jewels set in Silver on order from Sapphire and Sage to sew onto the straps, along with 8mm pearls. I can always add a chemise later.

Thank you!  I got the fabric a few years ago from Joann's. It turns from turqouise to purple but also has those lovely pink embroidered flowers.

The white lines are just glue that hasn't dried yet.  I plan on edging the upper part of the "wrapper" and adding some sort of trim/ribbon to the bottom of the wrapper.

The dress itself should be done tomorrow and I hope to have the hat done as well.   Then, I can finally start on the Snow White gown followed by the Bustle Dress I think.

Some updates on the Blue Courtesan...I am waiting on the jewels to finish the straps. There are but a few adjustments that need to be made, then this will be ready to ship.

I am also working on the Tudor gown for Lady Kett's Daughter. The bodice is at the Shoe repair for grommetting. Keeping very busy.

What I did on this was make a sleeveless Chemise with a casing for elastic to wear under the Bodice. The hanging sleeves will attach with snaps or velcro to the insides of the lower straps. I have a Silver Gimp to attach the two straps in strategic areas.

The dress is only pinned but I did want to show that I've done some progress.

Thank you!   Yes, it's based off of Dangerous Beauty as well.  :-)  I needed a gown to go with the ridiculous hat for a Mad Hatter Tea party in June.  The fabric was all stash.   I started planning for the event way back in December but have only gotten around to actually sewing for the event now, of course!  ;)  After this gown is done, I have five others I need to work on before June 1st.

I'm debating about adding big ridiculous pink bows to either side of the skirt (18th Century style, in a way).   I'll probably only add them to the pants cuffs.

After this dress is done, I need to work on the Snow White one based on Mirror Mirror.   I have the pink silk taffeta for the bodice and the yellow floral fabric for the skirt.   I got the organza for the sleeves yesterday but it looks a bit greener than I had hoped.   I'll still use it, I'll just have to redo the outfit in another year or so.

Following that is an 18th C Turkish/Ottoman outfit out of an iridescent purple cotton with green silk pants.  That won't take long.    Maybe a day.

Then there is the "secret" project.   ;D

After that, I need to make a bustle gown based off of Anna's Red Ball gown in Van Helsing - I have all the materials and the pattern so, hopefully, it won't be nearly as difficult as it looks.

And the last project on the list is an Edwardian styled bathing suit.  I'm just hoping Fabric dot com gets the burgundy plaid wool I ordered here on time!

I hope you make time for some R&R , isabella!!!

I am going to the Janesville Renaissance Festival this weekend, though I should stay home and work. But I have been working night and day on these projects of mine, as well as doing Alterations as they come in.  I will be bringing work with me to do in the evenings in the motel room. My Legolas lunch box will be packed with tools I will need.

Next up after i finish the Blue Courtesan for Lady DeLaney and the Tudor Gown for Lady Kett's daughter, I have a Jack Sparrow Pirate Coat to make.

Well I picked up the Tudor Bodice from the Shoe Repair, attached the skirt and sleeves. The otehr componets were done earlier in the year. I have yet to finish the French Hood and cut the Hoop Steel for the Farthingale, then this is ready to ship to Lady Kett for her daughter.

The main fabric for the gown is a rich, Navy Blue Velveteen. Soft and luxurious. I had the Silver trim I used on Lady Kett's Venetian gown as a neck finish with 8mm pearls, all hand sewn onto the Bodice. The Underskirt with forepart is a heavier cotton with a Silver Brocade, as for the False Undersleeves. I had some of the Blue Brocade left over for the Sleeve lining. This all ties in to the event that will be taking place at Scarby.
