Sorry I have been away for a while but I have been sewing up a storm.  i have been working on Sinbad the the sailor. I had to make 3 belly dancer outfits for this show.  Two of them turned out amazing. Thanks to good time management i have been able to do something special.  Fuzzlet has her own red belly dancer outfit that 'matches' the actresses.  The PP is in the cast so for opening night she is going to cheer on her dada in that outfit. I'll try to get photos of her with him on opening night. :)
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

CONVergence was a TOTAL blast. The costumes people made to wear for the MAsqurade and on the floor were fantastic. After getting Alterations done, I cut out Baron Fredrick's Doublet and the Bodice for my Little Queen. Here is what i have done so far. The Bodice is 75% finished. I still have hand sewing to do, get the lining in, then off to the Shoe repair for grometting.

I did the bodice as I would for the adults. There are few boning channels. I made sure to have the trim on the tabs going in the same direction as on the center o0f the bodice. I have enough of the narrow Gold Gimp to go around the Neckline once I get the lining in.

Here is the Unfinished Bodice with the Skirts and sleeves to show how it all goes together. The Italina Bonnet finishes the ensemble off.

With the Italian Bonnet...

Enjoy

Lady Kathleen, that little ensemble is adorable and stunning all rolled up into one!

That has to be the cutest little garb ever!  I would have killed to have that as a kid.

While the Little Queen's bodice is at the Shoe Repair for grommets, I worked on Baron Fredrick's Doublet today. I still have 12 more sets of Closures to sew on down the front and finish the sleeves. I ran out of the Black Piping and need 3/4 of a yard. BUMMER!!!

For the Profile Pic:  Click on "Profile" next to "Chat" and "My Messages" on the upper part of the screen.  (You might have to scroll up, it's in the orangy goldish colored bar).  On the left hand side of the screen, under "Modify Profile" click on "Forum Profile Information".  The first thing you should see is "I have my own pic" with a text box on one side and a radio clicky thing on the other.  Cut and paste the URL of your image on the web into the text box.   If it doesn't work, it's probably because the directory where your image resides is denying access to the boards (somewhat common, really).  In that case, save the image to flickr or another public, free image service (I know photobucket and Picasa both work).  Cut and paste from that new URL.

For posting Pictures:

The Boards use BB code which is slightly different from HTML.   Luckily, you don't really have to know all of that to be able to post a picture.  When replying or posting a message to the boards, you should see two rows of icons and one row of emoticons (smiley faces).  The icon you want is .   It will post two BBcode "img" tags in your post.   In between the tags, but NOT inside the brackets, cut and paste the URL of the image you want to post.   That's it!  :-)

Hope that helps!

In case you are using photobucket, here's another tip: when you get the link code, photobucket automatically puts [IMG] around the code- you'll want to delete that, so that when you paste it there's just one [IMG] before the code, and one after it (that might seem obvious, but it took me ages to figure it out).

Started a new Commisssoin for a Cast member of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. This ensemble will be similar to the one I made Toki Bloodaxe, but with some changes. One of the 2 shirts will be a Blood Red with a serged edge and decorative stitching.

The Doublet will be a Blood Red Cotton Velveteen with Piping and Closures down the Front. The Overjerkin will be made out of the Black medium Wale Corduroy turned the otgher way to have the nap be rough. Trim is Gold on Black with Gold Companion trim and 6mm white Pearls. The paned Slops will have the same, with a Blood Red Silk Underlining under the Panes and Velveteen High Leg bands with closures.

I will get better photos of the red shirt in Natural light.

Sorry for the fuzziness of the photos.

I managed to get the Overjerkin pieces trimmed and together. Last night I trimmed all the tabs. Now I am ready to sit down and Pearl.
