I absolutely ADORED Stardust!!!  It was fun, funny, sappy, romantic, lighthearted adventure that managed to laugh at itself just enough to make me want to walk straight into the scene and stay there, and the De Niro scenes were side-splitting!!!  ROFL

I need to go to the beauty store and see what they've got in the way of washable dyes that will work on really dark hair.

Good luck with that. I don't think it will show unless you do something permanent like remove color first then add the red-orange. You could do a few clip in streaks if you have to keep it temporary.

My hair is really dark, too.  I got a wild hair one day & decided I wanted pink hair.  The beautician said it would need to be bleached down to blonde first.  Clip ins are probably your best best.  (I still want pink hair)

Hmmmm...  I'll have to think about all that.  Maybe I'll use the spray stuff, since it will just be for one day, and I know that stuff will show up.

I'm trying to work up the nerve to get a *real* cobalt blue streak instead of a clip in! LOL

What spray do you use?  The ones I have found around halloween never really covered my hair...  just kind of made a sheen over it.  I'm trying to find a good one in White (meaning bright stark white), and have the dark brown natural coloring, so it's a bit difficult without bleaching or using clips.  Since I work a Government job, the bleaching isn't really an option, so.....

Any help is appreciated!

Color clips or a whole wig are options where bleaching and dying aren't agreeable.
I hope my life is an epic tale that ends well and everyone likes to read. --Grovdin Dokk

I'll have to hunt up the ones I had last year, because they did an excellent job of covering, but it was just the usual Halloween stuff, I'm sure.  Black plastic label with orange Halloween-ish print on a metal can...  Not sure if they had a white, but the fire engine red and neon orange worked really well...

This is so awesome.
It took me a few days but I've actually read all the pages on this thread and I'm hooked.

I showed them to my boyfriend and he is already jazzed up about steampunk.
Its strange but it seems to fit our personalities perfectly.

As if I didn't already have issues with being obsessed about garb for faire, now I have an excuse to get even more into more cool stuff.

by the way that streakers stuff looks awesome. I have dark brown hair and I have used Manic Panic (you can get it at Sally's Beauty Supplies) with success. I put on a lot of it on my hair, let it dry for an hour or more (it says 20 minutes on the jar) and then I apply heat with either the hair drier on the hottest setting for as long as I can stand it or a really hot flat iron. I did it directly on my dark  brunette hair without bleaching it first.
Now I really have an excuse to pick up a couple of cool blue and white wigs on ebay.

We will be posting our Steampunk Patches with your choice of background color on ebay starting this coming week!  We have examples of our patches on our previous posts.
Thank you!

Manic Panic...there's a name from the past I'd forgotten. :)

I do recall, back in my 20's I used the peacock blue over my black dyed hair and even  with the dark colorstill got some good color show. Good product.

Duckie84

i've used manic panic on my light brown hair before and after bleaching. Before it really depends on the color (pink didn't work) after it gives a great color but has to be redone often. I currently have purple streaks in my hair but hidden in a lower layer = fun and funky but still good jobwise
What does the color blue taste like?

Rani Zemirah

Yeah, I like Manic Panic, but I haven't used it in years.  I like the gooey-ness of it because it stays where you put it, but if you get it on your skin it doesn't come off for quite a while!  It's actually what I was thinking of for my hair, and I don't mind if it's not super bright.  I just want something that will pick up the light at odd moments, or when the sun hits it just right.  I'll have to experiment with both that and the spray, I guess.

Welcome, Auryn!  Glad to have you aboard!!!
