Well, if you start drinking around 8am, and power it down, then you might be good to go by 9-9:30, which is when they like to start getting everyone "dressed"... but you might need to keep drinking heavily enough to be able to make it through the parade (starting at noon), and then the 45 minutes of standing around waiting to start the show afterward... and by the time you're done with that, if you can still walk (despite being dead drunk and/or pinched in places no one should ever have to suffer pain)... then I'll buy your next drink!   


Oh, and as to the rest... believe me, if you saw some of the people who were in last year's show you wouldn't even be worried about it.  Besides, there's always the $20 spray-on tanning booth, right!

the next question is- if I am going to be bribed into this, what would said briber(s) suggest I wear? Left to my own devices, I only wear armour maille, decorative floofy mail is not my thing. I always equated that with pretty-boys or the stoner/pseudo-gypsie/bad-boy-wannabe crowd that I am anything but. So, cough up suggestions

Well, generally Randolph dresses the models, according to what he has that will fit, and their preferences (if they get there early enough). He does do plenty of decorative work, but he also does very impressive armor work, so there are plenty of styles to choose from.  It may, or may not, be completely traditional, but it's not like you're buying it... you'll just be wearing it for the day, or even just the parade and show if that's all you want to do.  So, really, it's between you and the designer... and maybe the weather(wo/)man, as well.   You don't want to overheat out there!  

Seriously, though... you might want to at least try to get a little tan beforehand... even if it's the fake kind, because it will protect your skin a bit if you're wearing less than you usually do!  



Oh... and don't even try to pretend that you're not "pretty"...

No no no no....Not out of fear of embarrassment *I gave up dignity a goodly while ago*, but because I wish not to make the ladies swoon and the men take up arms against me when they recognise my superiority via my awesome moves and possible faux-kung-fu-like dance moves......That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Gotta "spin" things for the masses, so they can be swallowed whole without setting off the politically correct gag reflex...  


These days the only place anyone wants to encounter a mercenary is in the pages of a Conan the Barbarian novel... or at the bar, wearing a slinky dress.    They certainly don't want to think they might just be govt. employees...

Yeah... uhhh, sorry, Mouse... but I'm pretty sure I see some woad in your future, as well... oh, but the good news is that it probably doesn't burn well in it's "paint" form.    


Of course, we'll probably never know who started all those "naked woad warrior" suggestions here in the countdown thread... but now that the idea has taken root, so to speak, I'm guessing it's pretty inevitable that at some point during the season someone will be thrust outside, drunk, naked and painted blue... and encouraged to run screaming down the nearest hill.
