They were kept pretty nice down on our end last year, weren't they?  Even during AHE they were never too bad.  I was actually very pleasantly surprised by them last time... for, you know... porta-privies.

Well... I guess my privy discussion was a real conversation killer!    So... moving on.


I saw a couple of swords I really liked this weekend... both cutlasses.  Not battle ready, of course, but gorgeous for show blades, and one felt like it was substantial enough to hold it's edge for quite a while.  Weighted well, also, and one was short enough that it didn't feel like I was waving around a flagpole (at 5'5", my arms aren't all that long to begin with).  Awesome pirate insignia, also!    The only problem is that they were both right-handed basket hilts.  Being left-handed has it's drawbacks when it comes to things like that, I suppose...  I really like basket hilts, although more of the openwork variety, but they are generally very right hand oriented.  

Sigh... guess if I really want one I'll either have to settle for wearing it on the "wrong" side (for my comfort, anyway) or save up for a left-handed guard, which will take a while...  Or I could get a scimitar, instead.  
Even more of a curve to the blade, and a bit more in keeping with the garb I'm planning for this season, anyway.

I know at Scarby they have that sticker thing, where you show it once, get the sticker, and keep it somewhere on you all day, but I don't recall being asked all that much at TRF, actually.  I mean, I'm sure I was at some point, but I don't usually drink a great deal while I'm inside, so... who knows?

You know how many times i've been I.D. at TRF?   Is there anything less than zero?  Of course, i kinda look my age... and it's not like there are true pubs other than POW, SD & Wonky Walley's.  You get better deals at the beer stands like The Bloody Bull...

That must be my problem...I look my age.  Of course, I have known Truly at the Sea Devil for about 22 years.  I suspect that may be why she doesn't card me, even when I ask her to.
