I am able to get around a bit better, but slower. I had the Earl bring up the sewing machines for me so that I could get some work done.

I am working on a Maroon Velveteen and Gold Diamond  Elizabethan ensemble for Kathryn Fae Weldon. . I have all  the contrast fabric pearled. The hanging sleeves are cut out, as are the shoulder rolls, over-the-bodice-Partlet. I hope to get the Underskirt finished wirhin the weekend. The corset is ready to go to the Shoe Repair for grommetting on Monday. Progress pictures as they get taken.

My finished ensemble.

I ended up putting the grommets in the night before faire.  Good thing they don't take long!

Lady Renee Buchanan

Does this count?  It's not sewing like everyone else does, but I used a needle & thread for a very long time.

I was given a small basket, the plain beige color.  Steve spray painted it black to go with my noble garb.  I also use a black lace umbrella that I had purchased off of Ebay.

Between last night and today, I hand beaded both the basket (40 pearls) and the umbrella (63 pearls and 15 gold beads) using a regular needle and thread.  Then I reinforced the feathers in Steve's noble hat, because the thread that attached them to the hatpin was broken in some spots.

I have decided that there are different types of people in this world.  Seamstresses and those who are not seamstresses.  I am in the latter group.  My husband, when he was home this morning, kept laughing at the vocabulary that was escaping from my mouth as I stuck myself with the needle, dropped the beads, and other such fun stuff.

I will take some pictures and get them downloaded and posted in a bit.  But it's the first things I've actually made by myself using a needle and thread!  ;D

Lady Renee,
I can't wait to see how the items turned out cause they sound very pretty. I also am a crafter and I love to find items I can tweak to suit me or others better. Plus bead work I think is just about as hard as sewing. I use to sew but I can no longer sit at the sewing table to do that so I do more enhancing now and find it just as fun.

Lady L

New pirate garb. I finished the coat before Christmas, but now I have the rest done.

View without the coat and hat. The vest fabric is microsuede. The shirt is cotton that I bought on clearance. The skirt is cotton, too.
