She is so cute Lady Elizebeth! I have things not fit my daughters right and I do measure them so I think that's outstanding work! Just a suggestions since she is 1: if you have the time, make her something simple to change into in case she gets something on her pretty dress. Here's a picture of the spare dress I made my daughter when she was about 22 months. It only took about an hour to whip together. I was glad I did because her older sister accidentally helped her spill her lunch lol.

I loved my grandmother's philosphy on kids clothing she made. "I made it to be worn. If it gets stained it means it was used.  If it is worn out.  It means it was well loved."
Cute clothing for kids were made to be worn, not sit in the closet. :)

Good job on the outfit. :)
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

I finished my boyfriend's pirate coat! Yay!

He is very lucky that he's quite a bit larger than me. If it fit me at all I would just keep it and not give it back. It's fuzzy!

I learned all sorts of stuff on this project. Now I can do pockets, mitered corners on trim, lining, hemming things with a lining... I am so proud of myself on this one!

Now, to clean the sewing room (aka my bedroom) of all the accumulated green fuzz so I can sew something else!

What fabrics did you use?  Where did you get your buttons and trim for it?

I used a cotton velveteen for the fashion fabric, and the lining is plain ordinary cotton broad cloth.

The buttons and trim were from Fabricland, which is the main fabric store chain in Ontario.  The trim is upholstery braid, which comes in various widths; I used half inch, but doubled it up. I cleaned out two stores of the style of buttons I was using in order to get enough.

Chris, that's FANTASTIC!!  Where are the pix of it being worn?  ;)

Gorgeous captain's coat!

My steampunk Jagergurl uniform, as inspired by a commissioned sketch by Phil Foglio, and worn to ComicPalooza last weekend to assist in his booth (for some reason I never get a picture of me wearing my "stuff).  I made the greatcoat, skirt, and corselet, using approximately 35 yds of pink ribbon.

Sveethot!
