Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

A super darling Fairy and Awesome Pink Pirate!!! Outstanding!!

After a 2 week trip to Reno in February to visit my Mother, getting bombarded with Bridal Alterations, Cataract surgery, I finally got Sir Kindle's Pirate Vest and Coat finished. He was very pleased when it came. Based on an idea he sent me, which I tweaked here and there to make it more original.

Period vest made out of Black Velveteen. After 2 failed attempts to find a brocade or textured pattern to work for the vest and contrast for the coat, we settled on Black Velveteen. I will use the fabric I bought for other projects.

The Pirate coat was made from a  deep wine cotton Velveteen, fully lined, functional pockets. The contrast fabric is Black Velveteen, with ribbon trim and tarnished gold gimp for accent. Gold buttons finish off the coat. There are 42 buttons on this coat.

Now on to a Funky Pirate Coat and Tudor ensemble for Lady DeLaney.

New Tudor I finished just in time for Scarby last weekend  ;D  Have some minor adjustments to make to it, as well as adding more trim and pearls and what not.  Luckily I have 3 weeks before I'm heading to Scarby again, so I should have enough time!

LadyFae

I absolutely love that Casche!

Where did you order the buttons from?  The Pink pirate is always on the look out for nice buttons.  Heh, I've turned him into quite the garb hound. Heee... ;D
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

LadyShadow

Wonderful job.  Please do share which pattern you used

For the skirts, no.  For the bodice, Simplicity 2589 with some very minor adjustments.  I was quite pleased with the pattern.  Definitely one of the best they've printed!

Thanks everyone! I was clueless as to what to put with the sea foamy color, so decided to just go with black since I already had the black velvet forepart.  I was pleasantly surprised with how much I actually like them together!

Lady Isabella

Casche, Wow! Love the colors!
Lady Kathleen, you ALWAYS do an amazing job!

Lady Stitch!!

I order a lot of the buttons I use for garb from www.pillagedvillage.com  as well as the 1" Gold on Black trim I used for the coat. Pillaged Village is my first go-to place. i have been ordering from them for years.

As for the Pirate Coat and Vest, JP Ryan.

I have that one in my stash waiting to be made.  But did you have problems with the shoulders?  I've read a couple of reviews were people had them slipping off.
