Since we have an event to go to tomorrow and the temps are only suppposed to be in the r40's it was time to get busy and make the Countess Livia zimarra I had bought the fabric for a few weeks ago. I still want to add some couched gold cord but it is finished enough to wear now.

Today I made this for my hubby. (I swear it's really dark navy with burgundy binding. Not black and pink like it looks in the pics! LOL)

and since we do have the same chest measurment and sleeve length I can wear it, too!

You're very welcome Rani, I'm sure you'll look stunning in it next week. Thanks Luciana, I'm hoping we can get started on your dress in the next week or two, that way my next bodice can be yours :)

I'm hoping the same thing.  Should I send you my fabric or should I stop one day and drop it?

Heres the reverse of Rani's, an embroidered cotton twill.

It's soooooo amazing!!!  And I know I'm going to look incredible...  LOL  How could I not?!?  That embroidered twill is so beautiful, and I can tell I'm going to be tempted to wear it every day!  ;D

Sealion, those are both so amazing!  I love the satin and fur, and the burgundy binding is the perfect compliment to the navy!!!  Just lovely work, as always...

Thanks for all the compliments! Your coat is lovely sealion, it looks so comfy and snuggly too :)
You should probably come by Luci, that way I can get all of your measurements while you're here. PM me and we'll figure out a day.

Thanks for the kind comments! The coat was warm and snuggly. :)

So FINALLY I have some pictures to share! ;D

This is hubby's doublet.  It's reversible.  This was my first one and I did some things wrong (after it was finished, of course ::) ) but other than that it turned out fairly nice and I really like the color combinations.  I learned a lot for the next one.

This is a coat I made for me.  It's also reversible.  I took a man's long doublet and sized it down.  Kind of a pirate style but trying to stay away from looking too colonial.  It has matching reversible sleeves.  Instead of tying the sleeves in I sewed on toggle and bar so it would look like jewelry.

They both look great.  I really like the doublet you made for yourself.  I have a similar pattern like it and thanks to you have a new idea to do with it.
