Of course, gratitude toward a specific person is best expressed toward that person. Yet, sometimes I have spontaneous feelings of gratitude for simple things in life--or the not so simple but often taken for granted, like central heat and air. This thread is for either type. Whenever you're thinking, "Thank heavens for _____" or "I'm so glad there's ____ in the world," feel free to post it here. I've even heard that expressing gratitude is good for one's health. So . . .

Thank heavens for central heat and air!  ;D  I would so often be miserable without it.

And huge thanks to Alphonse for coming by to make my yard ship shape while I'm feeling too under the weather to do so myself. It has allowed me to get on with less arduous yet important tasks out there.

Thank Goddess for the friends I have and the simple things that make you smile.
Don't forget to smell the roses, but watch out for the thorns!

Perhaps silly, but I'm grateful for birds.  It's our first spring in this house.  I love the fact that our yard and neighborhood have a ton of mature trees because it brings in a lot of birds...and not annoying ones, but neat birds like doves and multi-colored finches.  It's so soothing to hear them all cheeping and cooing, and they're so fun to watch.  I saw a parent robin feeding worms to its fat little fledging yesterday.  Really neat  :)

I'm grateful for DRUGS! I've never been a big user of any kind of drug but when I need them they're a tremendous relief.

I am thankful for Kleenex and for friends who call when I am in the dumps and nurse kitties!

I'm thankful for those days when you can just lay back, feel the sun in your face, and stop for awhile, let the world spin on while you watch the clouds and forget the rest of the world.

I am grateful for those friends that laugh at you when you call misquitos, Skeeters because they call them that too. :D

I'm grateful to John and Tom (tletourneau) for giving us this place to meet, to whoever thought up the lifeboat and to all of the members I've met or will meet in the future and the good friends I've made being a part of this forum.

I'm grateful also to everyone who sent Aeron good magick to get home safely on his own from Europe (long story, essentially he opted to cut the trip short and come home after Paris).

I'm grateful that the RenDevous/Menage Ette Trois came off so smoothly, largely in part to my co-conspirators (whether they volunteered or not).  What a lovely time we all had with memories to spare!

I'm thankful for FRESH WATER!!!
Living on an island that doesn't have it readily available makes you quite happy for the rains/floods that seem to be such a part of life/death here in the states.  We take so many things for granted and grumble about them.

I'm thankful for STORMS that bring the fresh water to us in torrents!  I'm thankful for the winds that blow and keep us cool when the temperatures get so very hot!  Everything in its place and time!

Escarlata

Today, I'm thankful for my timer. Every seven minutes (as long as I remember to reset it) it beeps and reminds me to check whether what I'm doing is what I determined most important early this  morning.

I'm grateful for this topic and it's authors.  My spirits are lifted.

I'm grateful for cats and dogs. They show love unconditionally and are comfort many days. You can also have a crappy day and if you talk in a nice way , they listen with intense and wag tails while you rant.

I took some popcorn and sat out on the back steps for a while, something I rarely do but am going to take up more often.

I'm grateful for the beauty of the sky and clouds. Nothing spectacular here this evening, just powdery blue and soft clouds drifting overhead. Gave me a sense of peace, reassurance and expansiveness. Somewhere along in adulthood I lost touch with the sky and would like to find time to look up more often. A picnic table may be in order--probably better and cheaper therapy than a psychologist's couch.

While I'm not the healthiest person in the world, I'm grateful to still have my five senses in fairly good working order so I can hear the breeze in the leaves and go ahhhhh.

I'm thankful for my critters,

wonderful friends many here,
