Oh yeah, makes it look that much nicer. Add a corded petticoat and you get movement, fullness and drivability. (So sold on corded petticoats right now.)

It is done!  That freaking doublet "thingy" that took me FOREVER to make for a friend..for free (never again) and it is done!!!  I still have the pants and hat to do, but those are the easy parts!

I'm really glad how this turned out because 1-I used a pattern (and we all know I hate patterns) 2-I lost the instruction sheet to said pattern and hand to wing a couple of parts 3-I hand stitched the clasps and the hook and eyes on! (another thing I hate doing-hand stitching!)

Very lovely.  I love that green, I think I almost bought some of that type fabric before.

You ladies are so sweet! I do have to admit that while that is my oldest dress (and first attempt at HA costuming) I did get lots of compliments on it. It's just hard to see photos of myself when in my mind I'm still 25 years old and 110 pounds! LOL
