Greg doesn't have much of anything steamy right now. He's got a pinstripe suit that were using as the foundation since he already had it. We've got alot of plans of things to get going for him. Like a derby with a headlamp, and a really awesome cane, plus our time travel gloves. I'm planning to make him a really nice vest, cravat and some spats as well. He wants to kind of be a well off but kooky inventor.

Speaking of spats! I started making myself some earlier thanks to internet tutorials and such...sadly, they ended up too small...even tho i made a mock up that fit great and everything... a couple buttons actually button on them so i may wear them anyway and leave them half buttoned...

As for torrid, I'm not exactly their "demographic"...I don't know if they'd carry anything small enough for me.
Things are shaping up to be...
Pretty. Odd.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is on the Hallmark Movie Channel - some original steaminess.

Wish I had more cable than I do... there are lots of great old Steamy movies I'd love to watch.

Captmarga, thanks for the headsup on torrid.  I don't always think of them, but I've had good luck w/knee & otk socks from them.

After reading the book, the movie seems only a brief visual representation.  We should be thanking the director or producer because the Nautilus wasn't written to look like that.
I hope my life is an epic tale that ends well and everyone likes to read. --Grovdin Dokk

Movie magic has done lots of things writers never even dreamed of, although not always in ways they might appreciate!  The Nautilus at Disney Paris is a bit different from the one used in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but both of them are pretty awe-inspiring when I let myself believe, for just the time the movie plays, that I could actually walk the decks underway...

Imagination is an incredible gift, and it's nice to be reminded occasionally to be thankful for it...  :)

To a person who reads & visualizes, a book is almost always going to beat the tar out of the movie.  Sometimes though, a movie will push us to reading the book & when the two mesh - it's magic.  The movie of Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone, seen many years after its initial release, sent me running to the books.  It's been an enchanted affair of the heart ever since.

I find myself in the same position w/Hell Boy.  I love the movies & now must find the graphic novels to compare to the movies.  On the other hand, I'll watch just about anything w/Ron Perlman, who has been romantic favorite of mine since his Beauty & the Beast days.

Actually both of those pictures are of the Disney Version of the Nautilus. The one from LXG looks like this...http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://image63.webshots.com/63/5/6/48/2834506480093417397hyFruU_ph.jpg&imgrefurl=http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2834506480093417397hyFruU&usg=__Fdk9n_ve5yBKbyj1rd4jnQaqAgo=&h=640&w=640&sz=57&hl=en&start=4&um=1&tbnid=76iK9zL-X2YJ1M:&tbnh=137&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3DLXG%2Bnautilus%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26um%3D1

Or the one from the graphic novel tha the movie was based on... I think I like the grapic novel version better

I think he and Rae Dawn Chong had great chemistry in Quest for Fire. >wink<

Rae Dawn Chong - stunning woman, looked good clad in nothing but mud.  I don't recall much of that particular film, but it's been a year or 20 since I've seen it.   I don't think he played the love interest, though he certainly wanted to be.

Well, who wouldn't?!?  LOL  I mean, anyone who looks like that wearing mud...  :o  :D

He's never been much for looks, IMO, but put him in a cat mask and those ragged robes, and DA-UMN... the man has charisma!!!  Whew...

It's the eyes and the voice.  His delivery of poetry is yummy.  Same thing w/Alan Rickman - the eyes and voice, although he is certainly easy on the eyes.

Just making sure that you have Almare, my friend on the list for AHE Saturday? She'll be dressing up in steampunk with us!!

Did a runthrough last night. Contemplating not bringing my weapons out of the fact I don't want to have to carry them around all day.

Who else is super excited?? :D
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)
