Your ruff came out divine, cilean. You use the same lace trim that I like to use for ruffs.

I can't figure out the process to insert a picture.  I followed the directions ... oh well, I deleted the attempt ...
here's the photbucket link if it's ok to post that way:

I hand stitched the entire shirt.  I'm pretty darn proud.

The pic is a little large, but here's Betty's shirt!

Well done!  Did you have fun hand-sewing it?  I'm giving serious thought to making myself a new linen smock, entirely hand sewn. :D  (I have a shift already, but I want another!)

Thank you Operafan for the curling iron tip.  I suspected that was a possability, but have not yet found one that gets hot even remotely close to the tip.  I'll keep hunting.  Loved the link you used... That has so much more info that had me thinking about all kinds of other projects!

As always ladies, Your pieces are lovely and inspiring!

Gem, you rock!  Thank you for getting my picture in!  It is amazing to see it "in public".  I'll remember to reduce the size next time.  I'm still very new to all this stuff.

I did enjoy hand sewing it.  I basically worked on it every night in front of the tv.  It makes the wonder pets much more tolerable.  I had a sewing machine a long time ago, and could have knocked out a project like this in one night, to hand sew took me a lot longer ... about 2 weeks I think.  I had to focus more on finishing each step and have to admit when I finished I missed it, but still, I can't imagine hand sewing if there was a machine in the house!  Does anyone really check seams for hand sewn v/s machine sewn?  I have unlimited respect for ladies that hand sewed entire wardrobes back then.  Especially to create a Queen's gown for it to be only worn once.  That would kill me.

I forgot to take pics before I handed over the garb and sent my sis and her hubby on their merry way.  But lucky enough a pic of them was taken at faire in what I made for them.

Sis- shirt, bodice, skirt, and mini bloomers (not seen)
BnL - jacket, shirt and pants.

May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

I just finished my new steampunk victorian outfit for Dickens on the Strand last weekend.  Here are a few pics of it.

You can see some detail on the neck, I put some gears and toggles and steamy stuff on the collar.  I also put them on the sleeves of the undershirt, but you can't see that.

You can sort of see the sleeves here.  I made gears into eyelets, sort of.

I also made the hand muff you see hanging around my neck and around my middle.  It has the red fabric and black bunny fur.

I also made the black bunny fur cape lined with black velvet so I wouldn't freeze.

Your outfit is fantastic!  REAL black bunnies??!  Those poor things.  Won't let my daughter hear that!  ;)  They look cozy, soft, and amazing, though!  Love the colors!

Yep, that's Taffy.  We chatted with her for a while in the lanes.

Yes yes, real bunny fur!  They were actually for our barbarian outfits, but we had to use them for these new items so we didn't freeze to death!!  I used to raise rabbits, and I love animals, but I see no difference between eating them and wearing them.

I really have no prejudices against wearing farm raised furs.  Just giving you a hard time.  No different than leather.  But, the daughter doesn't want a pet cow.  Haha  ;)  If we had made it to DotS , I would probably have been following you around petting your cape.  Bunny fur is soooo soft.  The black is really lovely, too.
