I know this thread kinda died but I had to share my super find with people who would understand my I almost skipped out of the store.

I have been eyeing this fabric for close to 2 months. I almost broke down and bought it 3 weeks ago when it was 60% off during the black friday weekend sale but the original price was $20 so $8 a yard was still too rich for my pocketbook.
Low and behold I walk into Joann's last night and find it at 90% off.
I walked out of there with 5 1/2 yds at $1.99 each.
Now I just gotta figure out what to do with it.

They had a gorgeous teal on teal herringbone from the Monaco collection that was also supposed to be on 90% clearance but it went back to regular clearance so I didnt get it.

I have NO IDEA what I will do with that fabric, any suggestions?

Okay so Ladies and Gents,

We have often cried and yelled and hoped for good fabric to land at Joann's so I will tell you? I just got some luscious 100% wool that is in a lovely shade of black! It was $24.00 a yard but! With my 50% Off Coupon? I was able to get it for $12.00 for My Hubby's 12th Night Costume.  It is also 57 inches wide, I am now washing it and I will put it in to full it a bit with some jeans.

While I was there? I also found some LAMBS wool 100% not heavy at all and it was in a lovely shade of grey for $17.99 per yard which again with the 50% off coupon will be $8.95 per yard!!!  Those are my color choices but they had red and green and deep blue.  I also noticed the Medium weight Linen, and a really good assortment of No wale Corduroy for $6.99 which again with the 50% off coupons it means $3.50 per yard!!!

So it is time to get some get some good stuff Y'all!

Auryn, I'm thinking sleeves, the underpart for a front-split skirt and the center pieces of a bodice.  That is gorgeous, gorgeous fabric.  

Cilean, after Christmas!  I've deliberately stayed away from them since October as I had an out of town event to attend in November & Christmas this month.  Congrats on the finds!

I've got Alice in Wonderland fabric coming out of my ears for a cancan skirt and tail bodice.  I cut and made 20 yds of ruffle this weekend, which is somewhat less than 1/2 of what I need.  I also need to hit Joanne's for lining and interlining fabric and have about 2 months to complete this for the AiW midnight opening in early March.  I'm late!

Cilean, I *saw* that wool, and I nearly bought some (in a gorgeous dark red) b/c I *thought* it was on sale for 60% off... but alas.  Their sign was misleading and it was still $24.99.  Since I have NO plans for anything from red wool in the pipeline, I let it go.  Milord was encouraging me to buy it, but I know lots of places I can get wool for around $15/yard, so I didn't need to pick it up.

I DID, however, need to buy the silver-grey velour.

Not that it helps the situation, but I found a local fashion school going out of business and they are selling their entire stock of trim.
I'm going over there at 4 to see what they have, I will report back with my findings.

I know I almost did the same thing and I had told them to put the fabric not on sale outside of the section that IS on sale. You and I were not the only ones who were bashing Joann's about this! We had a little lady berate the heck out of the Manager about the same thing.  It is not like they can not move the non sale fabric to the left or right but then they would have to think outside the box and well....it might be just too much.    However? I checked out the Lambswool and it was part of the 60% off so I ended up with 8 yards for a gown, it is a lovely fabric very soft.

It is not only me I can promise you but when I see a good thing I have to tell you all! I mean then I would have to buy it all myself and I think my husband will get rid of me! LOL plus if someone else gets it that I know it is like I am getting in 2nd hand so I still get the purchase buzz!

My black wool for the Hubby's outfit is in the dryer as we speak with pairs of jeans.  I hope it fulls a little so I can cut it for slashing but if not then it will look awesome with the silver rope I will be attaching to it in the next few weeks before 12th night.

At Walmart today, I noticed they have some corduroy, faux suede, and "linen-look" fabric marked "unknown materials" $2.00/yd
Blasphemy, maybe. But it could be a sweet deal for someone on a budget.

Our Walmart doesnt' carry any fabric anymore. Now I just have the small local Joann's or I have drive 45 miles one way.
