Just another set of gear I can keep an eye out for.  Don't think there are any events near me, but I can try to get enough together for a TRF invasion for sure.  I was always a fan of the rpg Castle Falkenstein.  Never played it but always had an interest.  Weird science, touch of mysticism perhaps.  Just think League of Extraordinary Gentlemen-ish.  Hat, shoes, mask/goggles, coat, etc... And I just hit the thrift store earlier today, sigh.

they tryed the TRF invasion this year i saw maybe 10 people i know the steam punk look is warming up i bet well see lot more real soon
I'm confuzled.

The steam invasion was fuuuun.  In addition to the RF invaders on AHE, there were lots of individuals sporting SP on the other days I attended.  The cast were very supportive - I even got singled out for free admission in my SP and was told as I entered: you ARE going to be in the costume contest, right?

Here are some of the pictures from Ikkicon. I'll post as many as I can.

Here's my new Steampunk Dragonfly

This is my twins new hat decor, it lights up!

This is my sisters new boyfriend who is a Sky Sergent...

Here's my new Steampunk outfit in all it's glory!

In this one you can see my new Audemitter which is my ipod wrist cuff.  I don't have the speakers yet for it, but you can see it otherwise and it rocks!

This is the side view of my big bustle!!

Lady Elizabeth - too awesome for words!  I like the bustle/mini apron combo and your audemitter.  Mine hasn't come in yet.  *pout*  You looked like you were having a blast.  Thanks for sharing the pics.

Well Ikkicon wasn't what I expected.  Honestly we didn't have all that much fun...  There was NO alcohol except at the bar and there was not a single Ikkicon person at the bar.  I don't know what's up with these folks, well honestly there were tons and tons of kids there, but there were also some older folks there.  I have no idea where they drink or if they drink.  Maybe I'm too much of a rennie or too much of a lush, but it just wasn't what I was expecting!!  THere were also no shows or good music playing anywhere and the shopping mostly was anime stuff, though we did find a few cute shops for steampunkers which was cool!

The pics are really cool.  As for a good time, most of those are geared more to the kids and their parents I would think.  Never been to one so is hard for me to say.  Ren fairs rock and I believe that is where I will stay.  Lady Elizabeth you look marvelous in your Steampunk gear.

Nice! Where'd you find them?

Thank you Taffy. :)

As to where I found them I got them off of Amazon. Lookup Timberland Charles Street Lace up. You should be able to find them.

I'm partially Scottish, partially Irish, and there's a small amount of Native American somewhere in there...

Totally forgot to add the Dickens on the Strand pics - some wonderful steaminess:

Well, it was an anime convention moreso...so that's what you should expect. And the drinking takes place in the hotel rooms at night, at least at the major ones like A-Kon and Animefest in Dallas. Everyone looked very lovely!
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)
